    I've tried a bunch of different diet cabbage soup recipes, and this one is really just an excellent variation on a theme. I think the flavors come together nicely, and are interesting enough that you won't get sick of it after one bowl! I made this on a whim one day, and didn't even have to leave the house to get any of the ingredients (We have a weird, but well-stocked pantry!). I guess that sort of makes it a "kitchen sink" type soup, but it's still in that all-you-can-eat category, and so delicious!

    I received this basic recipe from a friend but modified it after many, many.. many batches! My friends will literally pour this into a wine glass and drink it, and they constantly beg me to make it! It's not sweet like many salsas, and has a good oniony base, which is what I think makes it so good!

    I know, I know, it's not authentic and it doesn't contain all the ingredients in the Thai name. But for poor, deprived college-town students like me, this is pretty close to what you can find at Thai restaurants. I'll eat it for dinner with some Thai tea (though I'm usually too lazy to make it), though it's not traditionally meant to be served as its own course. You could substitute shrimp or tofu for the chicken, just skip the velveting preparation. I velvet the chicken so it doesn't get tough in the soup, but you don't have to. If you don't, just sauté the chicken in some oil until it turns white and then cook it until it's done in the simmering soup.

    I LOVE raspberry margaritas and have been dying to make my own.. but reluctant to get into the complications of real raspberries, and skeptical that Chambord would give me the strong raspberry flavor I wanted. So, I came up with my own! It's to taste, of course, but here's the general recipe. The best part is you can substitute the raspberry sorbet for mango.. or peach.. or strawberry.. or any flavor sorbet!

    I always get this at our favorite local French restaurant, Paulette's, so I absolutely had to figure out a recipe for it. I use French crêpes (my specialty!), though traditional Hungarian palacsinta are a little different, I think. It takes a little bit of time to make, unless you have the crêpes already made, but it is so completely worth it! I found the actual recipe from the restaurant, and the sweet mustard sauce is from there. I cut it down from like, a gallon, which is why some of the measurements are so small. The sauce is absolutely delicious though!

    There's a fairly similar recipe on here for roasted broccoli, but there's no temperature set, and that's KEY! Also, I like the broccoli to stand on its own--no need for pignoli, aka pine nuts! I, myself, have always loved broccoli, but this method of cooking is BY FAR the best.

    A totally delicious salsa recipe that combines fresh ingredients with cooked tomatoes that gives it a fresh but very salsa-y taste. I've finally gotten the ingredients down to exact measurements! I'm required by my [extended] family to keep at least half a gallon in my house at all times. Goes great with cheese dip, on tacos, in soups, whatever! In Paris, I made this all the time, and my friends would literally drink it. Out of wine glasses. Maybe they just missed Mexican food, but I'm thinking it's because the recipe is so good!

    This is the famous Moosewood deep chocolate vegan cake. I'm not vegan anymore, but I started making this cake when I was. To date, it is the best chocolate cake I've ever eaten, much less made myself! There are a couple other deep chocolate vegan recipes on the zaar, but they use peanut butter topping instead of the raspberry-and-dark-chocolate one I originally used. The coffee brings out the delicious flavor of the chocolate, and topped with raspberry and MORE chocolate.. irresistible! The original recipe seems to have WAY too much raspberry jam listed, and I always end up sort of just slopping the raspberry sauce on, followed by some chocolate. At first it ended up sort of looking like a cowpie, with all that raspberry, but tasted so marvelous. I'm sure most of you will be handier at that part than I!

    This is as close as I have gotten to the mussels my sister and I got addicted to in Italy this summer. All the recipes I've seen so far lack something, but there are a few distinct flavors: white wine, garlic, olive oil+sea salt or butter. No tomatoes! I could eat this everyday. Make sure you have a nice thick slice of crusty-ish bread on the bottom or side of the bowl, plus tons more for dipping in the leftover steaming liquid!
