Want a tasty, warming and healthy meal? This soup was given to me by a Turkish friend. It's always very tasty and filling when she makes it, but I found that the soup leftovers can be used to make a delicious hearty oven bake. Find out and see.
This is one of my favourite streetside snacks in Taiwan. It is extremely easy to make and tastes great on its own as a snack or in a lunch box. Could also be sliced and presented with cold meats as a starter. I usually make it without measuring anything, so these measures are estimates.
A Chinese New Year cake. I adopted this recipe in 2006 because I love Nian Gao, although I have never tried making this recipe, but I will. I promise. The 'nian' in this has the same sound as 'year' in Chinese, it also can mean 'sticky' which is the overall consistency. Hence it's place in Chinese New Year celebrations.
A Ukrainian friend made this for a party and it was so different, both to look at and to eat that I had to get the recipe off her. Great make ahead recipe and looks good on presentation! It is a bit messy to prepare, but if you like these types of food, it's a winner.
