    Recipe #515642

Based on the South African 'crunchie' which is traditonally made with whole rolled oats. I didnt have any oats, but had oat flour so tweaked the recipe with fabulous results!

Colorful crunchy fresh and yummy. And very filling! I omit oil for less calories, but you can add if you like. Serves 2-3 as a main meal or 4 as a side. The secret flavors are from the cress and celery.

    Recipe #488893

This is not a traditional recipe, but my preference. You can use radish leaf or young mustard cress instead of watercress. I find it very satisfying as a breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Prasad is a Hindu term for any offering (flowers, drinks, food etc) made to God. Roth is extremely popular here in South africa, especially for Lord Sri Hanuman. Here in SA, we like our Roth crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Use only pure cows ghee, no substitiutes. Leftover ghee can be filtered and reused as the quality is not affected by heat.

This is a popular dish in North India, and is quick, easy and fuss free. Everyone has their own way of doing it, and this is the way i do it. When i am exhausted and too tired to do much else, i make this dish. Other people use a lesser amont of lentil to rice, but i use a 50/50 cos thats the way my husband likes it, moist. Some people prefer it drier. The choice is yours. You can also vary the type of rice and split lentil you use, but then cooking times will vary.

    Recipe #396974

Low GI, filling and high in protein. A great roti to eat your potatoey curries with and not feel guilty of carbo loading.

    Recipe #393946

I do not cook anything in my microwave except for custard and white sauce. This recipe comes out perfect everytime, my hubby says its better than the ready prepared box one. No burning of milk or sticking to pots.I suppose a vegan can sub cows milk with soy milk. I have a 1200w microwave oven and use only the Tupperware crystalwave Jug to make it in. Adjust the cooking times for different wattage ovens. This yields a fairly thick pouring hot custard. You can adjust to your desired consistency by varying the quantity of powder, or better still, add milk if custard is too thick.

I am on the Weigh-less SA program and developed this recipe to fit into my lifestyle. Tastes good, filling and healthy. One serve with 60g of cooked quinoa or one cup of cooked pasta is 2 complex carbs, 1 fat, 2 veg and 1 protein.
