I gave these a tasty SW twist. Hope you like them.

    Recipe #135687

Tex Mex at its best. I do not think there has been a party I have been to in the last 10 years where these were not a staple.

    Recipe #135686

A Southern staple at all of our holidays and get together's. Easy and yummy and so pretty. Serve in a glass bowl to showcase it's beauty! I like to use fruit in natural juices rather than in heavy syrup but choose what you like. Update 7/2011 For a recent family reunion my darling great aunt made this but added a little almond extract! Wow! That little addition took this from a great fruit salad to an amazing fruit salad! Feel free to mix up fruit or add things you like. Please share that in your review so we can try it too! Great for weddings, showers, parties etc..

    Recipe #135685

From "The Wisdom of the Chinese Kitchen" and adapted to my family's liking. Easy and quick.

    Recipe #135676

I have ALWAYS been afraid of Phyllo Dough- Don't be! It is so easy! This is a simple recipe that will WOW your family and guests. From Food and Family magazine and modified a little. Posted for World Tour Greece

    Recipe #135675

A W E S O M E! The crust makes this so decidedly different and yummy! A margarita flavored creamy filling in a crunchy pretzel pie crust! Now that is my kind of dessert! So good I hurt myself! TY to adopt a greyhound for the great idea to put these in lime shells. Great idea and great pics!

    Recipe #135671

Revamped from another recipe for my meat and potatoes guy. No veggies here but feel free to add them if you like! I serve the veggies on the side (picky dh) With or without this a is very yummy and well seasoned savory pie! I use turkey but any ground meat can be used.

    Recipe #135669

Just as fast as a boxed mix but much healthier and yummier! Very popular here in TX where we like to add a little crushed red pepper or cayenne to it. Very Italian in flavor.

    Recipe #135666

Thaw and marinade your chicken breasts at the same time in this wonderful concoction! Toss it all in a zipper seal bag and throw in the refrigerator. Ready the next day to throw on the grill! The seasonings are a fusion of Asian and SW flavors making it suitable for both catagories in the World Tour.

    Recipe #135664

My kids say this is better than 'the blues' and gobble it up, even when I toss in a handful of cooked veggies like broccoli, peas, carrots, etc.... Make it a one dish meal with some tuna, cooked ham, etc... It is just as easy as the 'blue box' at least I think so and it is much healthier!

    Recipe #135662

Breakfast comes early so I assemble this casserole the night before and pop in the oven in the morning while I inhale my coffee! This was designed for my meat and potatoes only cowboy BUT you can add anything to it in the meat layer. Very very adaptable and cheap!

    Recipe #135657

Ok, in TEXAS we do NOT cook with sauce! It is only used as a condiment to top anything we want or to dip things in. There have been so many arguments started over whose is best- but we all know Mama's is best! This makes a bucket load so use the tool to change the number of servings or freeze, can or give away the rest. "Samantha in UK states that this is not safe to can as it has butter in it. I have never had a problem but please be aware of that info. If you are concerned please try substituting with ButterBuds / Molly McButter type butter substitute or do not can. Freezing is another option as well " If you do decide to can this use a Boiling Water Bath, process half-pints and pints for 20 minutes at 0-1000 feet in elevation, 25 minutes for more elevation.

    Recipe #135656

I know - not another one BUT this one is the FASTEST enchilada recipe EVER! And it even can be made ahead! WOW! No precooking, lots of pantry items YET it still tastes as good as longer recipes! It is yummy!

    Recipe #135652

So good on a cold day! Warms you up fast! Update: Due to a trusted review that the stew was too salty I have modified the recipe to 1/2 tsp salt. Please do try this and taste before serving. Adjust the seasonings to your taste. I promise it makes a thick, hearty and delicious stew. Likewise, if you prefer a thinner stew add some additional water or broth.

    Recipe #135649

They are not called Rigamarta's for nothing! My friends started calling them this after only ONE drink! They pack a punch but are very flavorful and yummy. You dont really taste the alcohol so be careful! These are 'on the rocks' which makes them easier to make by the pitcher. If you prefer frozen just mix all ingredients with a blender filled 1/2 way with ice and blend. They are also great made 'virgin' for those who do not care to imbibe!

    Recipe #135648

Layers of yummy Tex Mex ingredients. Simple to make yet gets lots of rave reviews! Saw similar recipes for this here on Zaar but none exactly like this one!

    Recipe #135646

So easy and yummy. Kid and hubby pleasing comfort food in minutes! Faster even than making pizza or waiting for delivery! Makes a great appetizer or even a very satisfying meal! Make as healthy- or unhealthy- as you like! Add anything to the sauce - meat, veggie, etc... Very versatile and quick! We love to make it spicy by adding dried hot pepper flakes, jalapenos, green chilis or cayenne etc... World Tour Italy and Mexico/Tex/Mex/SW This can obviously be adjusted to be Italian or Tex/Mex by the additions used. FUNDIDO (melted cheese) is a popular appetizer in Tx/Mx cooking. To keep this more 'traditional' Mexican use Mexican oregano instead of Italian seasoning and Mexican cheeses like pepper jack or queso quesadilla and bolillos- Mexican crusty rolls. You could even add some cooked chorizo. To make it Italian- use the Italian seasoning and add any 'pizza' type toppings you like.

    Recipe #135645

Simple snack to throw together for unexpected company. Ranch 'anything' is very popular here in TX.

    Recipe #135640

Yummy Scottish bread. Great flavor and naturally low fat! Great bread for sweet or savory uses. I posted this recipe for the Zaar World Tour 2005- Scotland. This recipe was modified by me after experimenting with a recipe by the same name found on page 331 of "Prairie Home Cooking" by Judith M. Fertig, which reads... "This is a simple bread of the dispossessed. Brought to Canada by the Scots who were displace3d from their lands during the infamous 'clearances' of the late 1700's. Bannock would eventually become one of the first breads that Native Americans learned to make when they were confined to reservations in the prairie states......" I pride myself on being both Scottish and American Indian as well as a pretty good genealogist and a history buff. This recipe was well-researched before posting to Zaar as such.
