Basically I just measured the ingredients in the package and substituted fresh onion and garlic. I usually mix up several of these and store them in ziplock bags to use later.

    Recipe #126622

Memorial day I was at my son, Chris' house and he was using some moderately expensive rubs on his barbecue and was disappointed that it didn't have the kick he wanted. So I came up with this one. This is a bit too hot for the little one's or others that can't handle much heat. Reduce the cayenne and chili powder.

    Recipe #126621

This is my version of a basic beef and vegetable soup. I've also done this in a crockpot starting it before going to work and ready to eat when I get home.

    Recipe #126442

This is a pasta recipe I've been cooking forever. I've changed it slightly over the years, but it's basically the same sauce I've made since I was a teenager.

    Recipe #126441

I've been making this for quite a while now. Some people who don't care for cabbage love it cooked like this.

    Recipe #126440

This is my version of a basic beef and vegetable soup. I've also done this in a crockpot starting it before going to work and ready to eat when I get home.

    Recipe #126158

Everyone has a different preference for how mashed potatoes should be done. I like to have a little bit of texture, but not too lumpy. I use a hand masher and a whisk to minimize the working of the potatoes. The less mixing the better the potatoes.

    Recipe #126157

This a compilation of Thai cucumber salad recipes. Vary vinegar, salt, and chili to your own taste.

    Recipe #126039

This one has a history. My DW, Sue, and I used to eat at Outback Steakhouse quite a bit. We liked their Outback Special and I attempted to get the spice mix recipe, but was unsuccessful. I made an stab at reproducing the taste and came fairly close. Then tragedy struck; I had a hard drive failure and somehow the steak seasoning recipe escaped the backups. Instead of trying to reproduce it I was determined to make it better without using seasoned salt that was in the original. This is the result. Please use it for your own enjoyment, but if you have a commercial interest in mind, please contact me first.

    Recipe #126017

This is a type of penne ariabiata recipe. I keep it mild for the family.

    Recipe #125773

This is simple and quick to get cooking. I usually put it together the night before and pull it out of the refrigerator just before heading out to work. I'm sure any brand or home made chicken gravy will work fine.

    Recipe #125772

I've been making this version so long I don't remember how it came about. I had to measure this out one day so my DIL could make it.

    Recipe #125771

Last Thanksgiving I was adding the finishing touch to my deviled eggs and after I sprinkled the last one I noticed that my paprika was cayenne pepper. Luckily my Ex (Yes my Ex, Susan and her husband Neal are our friends and are invited for the holidays) had some with paprika for the faint of heart. My two sons liked the extra devilish ones so much they requested them for Christmas.

    Recipe #125769

Ther are a lot of oven potatoes, and this is one I came up with to suit my families tastes.

    Recipe #125768

This was based originally on a refrigerator pickle recipe for the pickling liquid. The acid content is high enough for canning. I give these to my DW's office staff as presents for Christmas along with my pickles. They are much requested.

    Recipe #125767

I've been cooking this about 25 years. Add Mediteranian oregano if you want greek chicken.

    Recipe #125766

This easy to start after work. Cooking time is an hour. I usually cook some rice to go with this. Egg noodles would go well also. Make extra for lunch the next day.

    Recipe #125765

My neighbor Edwardo owned a Mexican restaurant nearby and had the best fresh salsa. He told me what his ingredients were and surprisingly the garlic was garlic powder. My oldest son's friend Kevin would be really surprised to find I use vinegar in my salsa. He swears he doesn't care for vinegar, but he loves my salsa.

    Recipe #125764

This was the result of a little experimentation. I keep cooked chicken breasts and uncooked shrimp in the freezer so I can get this started in no time.

    Recipe #125661

This is one of my usual concoctions where I pore over numerous recipes for a dish and choose a mixture that I like and know my family will like.
