My Mom ran a little restaurant in a bank building and her soups were the best. The most popular one by far was this clam chowder. The only changes I made were to add more clams than she did. I also wait to add the whole milk until the end, because I like mine thicker and that way you can control the thickness to your taste. Enjoy!
I know there are a gazillion recipes for "quac" here, but this is truly one of the best recipes I have found. I am always being asked for the recipe so I decided to post it here. I love to serve it with the "Scoops" tortilla chips.
Joli Kobe is a great restaurant in Atlanta and for years I have wanted the recipe for their ginger dressing. It was in the paper this week .... finally I have it. Had to share as it is so delicious! Great on salads of any kind.
This is a savory sweet potato dish that is delicious and also very pretty with the orange sweet potatoes and the green leeks spread around the edges. Yummy. I think this was from the Atlanta Journal Constitution a long time ago.
This is my version of P F Changs lettuce wraps recipe. It is a lot less time consuming. Plus this versatile filling can be used in a flour tortilla with some cheese and fold over and microwave for a minute for a tasty burrito. Also it works really well as a topping on your pizza. I spread some basil pesto on a flour tortilla and add some shredded cheese and some of the filling and bake for 8 minutes and it is delicious.
Recipe is from Cooking Light magazine. There are several recipes for this already posted but I really liked the ingredients in this one. Serve alongside roasted or steamed green beans with slivered almonds.
Recipe posted in response to a request. This is actually a recipe I found at FoodTV network by Molto Mario. I like to make this pasta at Christmas because of it's beautiful red colour. It is delicious and can be used any way you like, whether it be for some ravioli or fettucine or any shape of pasta you like.
This is a very simple yet elegant dessert that I serve often. You can top with a dollop of whipped cream if you like. It can be made ahead and heated in the oven while you are enjoying your main course. Recipe from Sunset Magazine.
I used to love eating Picadillo when I lived in Key West many years ago. Found this recipe in the paper so I can now enjoy this again. I don't eat beef so I use ground turkey breast instead. Easy quick little dinner.
This is a delicious as well as impressive dessert to make for your guests. It always gets lots of oohs and ahhs when you serve it because of the pretty presentation. Plus it tastes great! Recipe given to me by my friend Nancy and is from her stepmother Joan.
Recipe from Molto Mario and posted in response to a request. I make this every Christmas as hostess gifts and put it in pretty bottles with ribbon. Everyone who gets this is very appreciative. In Italy this is considered a "lemon digestive assistant" - whatever it tastes great!
This is a quick and very easy casserole the is loaded with flavor. My best friend Julie gave me the recipe. I like to make it the day before and then heat it up because the flavors seem to get better. You can lower the fat by using baked tortilla chips and low fat cheese if you like.
Recipe posted in response to a request. This is a very rich cake that is sure to impress your guests. Prep time includes cooling time. A serving is really a very thin slice unless your guests are really hungry (and not worrying about their weight) Recipe given to me by Melissa, a very nice young lady who volunteers at the center where I work.
This is my attempt at duplicating a salad I had recently at a local restaurant. I was sitting there eating the salad and writing down all the things I could identify in it and here is the end result. I used Martha Stewarts' Dijon Vinaigrette as the dressing and it tasted just like the salad at the restaurant. A great salad to serve with grilled meat or fish.
