    My Aunt Joan makes the BEST cinnamon rolls (or are they sticky buns?) and my mom and I got her to give us the recipe. She's been making this recipe since the 1960's. The measurements and directions aren't precise so please be careful. Joan has been making these so long that these are the directions we were given. ;) If you bake moderately frequently, you should be fine! I hope some of you enjoy these as much as we have over the years. UPDATE: Xmas eve 2012 making for first time (big shoes to fill...) spoke with Aunt Joan. This recipe makes (2) 9X12 pans - about 12 rolls each. Topping updated; use half in ea pan. I used 7 C flour - and needed the dough for about 5 minutes. First 6.5 C into the mix in the bowl and the last bit used to dust the countertop while I kneaded the dough. In a hurry (xmas eve!) and so warmed the oven to 150 and then opened the door and put dough in oven - warm environment to double quicker... will update

    When I was a little girl, Aunt Joan made the BEST rye bread I ever tasted. She'd sometimes give us a whole loaf and I'd have to make my brother and sisters promise not to eat it all.... For Christmas I asked Aunt Joan to write down her recipe and share with me. I'm putting it here for everyone's enjoyment. Note - it isn't very explicit, so you'll have to have some experience to get it right.... I hope some of you enjoy this.

    I got this recipe from Bon Appetit, but they didn't have it published on their web site, so I'm putting it here for safe keeping. It was in the 'request' section where readers write in and ask for a recipe from a location / restaurant they'd eaten at. This one comes from the Grace Bay Club in Turks and Caicos. It looks quite good - so I'm hoping some of us enjoy this! UPDATE - I made these this weekend and they were good and went over big at a party. I made a double batch and note the puff pastry at my grocery was $4.99 ea - so for a double batch - that is 3 not an inexpensive appetizer for a party... Many liked them - but I thought next time I might see about using pie pastry instead of the puff pastry and perhaps adding a bit of cheese or maybe potato inside of the empenadas? The dip was great - even with tortilla chips too.... :)

    I made a recipe like this - based on another on this site. I made it as enchiladas but with the low fat nature and the corn tortillas I figured it would be best as a casserole next time. The flavors were good - so I'm adding it here for safe keeping and possibly adjustments as I try it as a casserole next time. As it was low-fat and low carbs - I've figured it at 10 WW points plus for 1/6th of the pan.

    Got this from my Mom in 1989. I suspect she got it out of a magazine (BHG?) or the newspaper.... We've been eating it regularly since. Be sure to make it up a day ahead so the flavors mix well. This recipe makes enough for a small army so this is a good one to take to a pot luck or (large) family picnic etc. If the salad is kept in the fridge it lasts 4 - 5 days if tightly covered. (BTW - we've used Hellmans, Hellman's light, Miracle Whip and MW light for the salad dressing. It is truly best with the full fat Hellman's...)
