As a child my mother would make this rice dish. It is very mild in taste, but still flavorful. As a child anything with a little spice to it was considered "hot", and we just didn't want to eat it. You certainly can spice it up with some chili powder, or tomatoes with chilies (like Rotel)

This recipe was given to me by a family member as an easy way to make pie crust. I have not tried it yet...but have posted it here in case I lose the piece of paper it was written on.

A very simple and easy pizza recipe. It was a recipe my mother used when she was a "new" cook. She has passed it on to me...it is easy and for a new cook, a confidence booster when it actually comes out looking and tasting good.

Scrumptious meatballs from Mom. Mom never browned them first if she was using in her spaghetti sauce. See her recipe for sauce posted in my recipes, recipe #210729. She would drop them in raw and let them simmer for 40 mins. You will have to skim off any excess fat that rises to the top of the sauce if done this way. Or you can saute them first or bake in the oven before adding them to the sauce. No need to skim off any grease if pre-cooked.

This is my Mom's sauce, the sauce I grew up with and loved...but now that I am grown I have made a few changes but posted the orginal recipe from my Mom. Basically for my grown up taste, I increased all the spices. I would like to say I doubled them, but I'm sure it is probably even more. I just cup my hand pour some spice in and throw it in the pot. And I also tend to let it simmer on the stove all morning. It's a good sauce and the one I started with before I started spicing it up. Occaisionally I added her meatballs to this recipe, they can be found here recipe #210730

This was my mother's favorite recipe to put together when she had no time. It took just a few minutes to put together and with the boil in the bag rice they have on the market today....it sure is a snap when the day and the small children have you wiped out. It is now my favorite "no time to cook" recipe. The onions cook down and make their own savory broth to mingle with the butter. I think you will like this recipe, especially when you have "no time" to fuss over a meal.

I received this recipe from my cousin Jim, a male, who is a darn good cook....but most of his recipes are Hot! Hot! Hot! This is one that he was sure I would like cuz it was heat-free. He and his wife are both bikers....in their travels they pick up some recipes....which usually carries some hot peppers of one sort or another.

I got this recipe off the bottom of an old pottery pie plate that my mother had for many years. The pie is really good and the preparation is a bit different than most apple pie recipes I have seen.
