This is an authentic but quick recipe for Jamaican Rice and Peas. This a standby for me I make often. The Scotch Bonnet if left whole will not make the dish hot, just adds flavor.

    Recipe #421008

I have to credit "Rosemary" on Allrecipes for the inspiration. I had to tweak, adjust & fix a few things to make it do-able. A bit labor intensive, but the results are worth it! A great comfort dish for fall.

    Recipe #262594

For serious gingerbread fans. A dark bread full of wonderful taste and a light texture. The complex flavors rely more on spice than sugar, not too sweet. Your house will smell wonderful while it bakes in the oven! This makes 1 9x 4x 2 1/2 loaf or about 4 mini-loaves. I came across this recipe in 1993 but I don't recall where.

    Recipe #221527

A simple yet flavorful dip that's great with raw vegetables. The subtle hint of anchovy enhances the other ingredients but no one will know they are in there. This is easy to put together with what you probably already have on hand but is a nice change from the typical dip fare.

    Recipe #215337

I must post this recipe as I could not find anything close on 'Zaar. These are not only delicious but a great cupcake to travel when sharing with friends, co-workers or school, and picnics too!

    Recipe #192241

A delicious Thai version of salsa. Everyone I make this for loves it. Meant to accompany grilled fish, but you will find many uses for it. I usually add at least twice as much cilantro and double the recipe as guests will eat all of it. It is just as good the next day. I have mistakenly omitted chili-garlic sauce and still tasty. Use a sweet onion like Vidalia or a red onion if unavailable.

    Recipe #187965

An elegant and quick alternative to the usual pickle-tuna salad. Pesto & tuna go very well together.

    Recipe #177751

A combination of goat cheese, pine nuts, dried cranberries, avocados and greens, very satisfying. Please search this site for a raspberry salad dressing (I rarely measure!)

    Recipe #169688

This method for cooking the sweet potatoes gives them more flavor. This is great in burritos or on its own over rice.

    Recipe #139045

I've been making this for over 10 yrs & it's one of my favorite recipes. Even people not crazy about pumpkin, curry or ethnic foods swoon over this. Great as a main dish over rice or as a side. I do not eat meat so I omit bacon. In that case, don't worry about using unsalted butter. If vegan you can use all oil. If you live in a Latino community look for Calabaza in produce dept, otherwise, Butternut or Hubbard squash works wonderfully as well--don't use anything canned! This is from Elisabeth Lambert Ortiz Complete book of Caribbean Cooking, 1973.

    Recipe #136138

Very simple ingredients combine for wonderful flavor. Delicious warm or cold. I love these and don't find it labor intensive, rather rolling the cabbage for me is relaxing! I use brown rice and I do use toothpicks to keep rolls closed. I also mash the chickpeas first as it makes the filling easier to stuff. I also did not peel tomatoes and it was fine. I tweaked this recipe after I tried it, adding easy tips. Make sure to choose a very large cabbage head--better leaves. Make sure you are gentle with removing leaves from hot water as they tear easily. This is from Tess Mallos Complete Middle East Cookbook.

    Recipe #135750

I love tofu. But this chickpea sandwich is much more satisfying than the typical "mock tuna" salad made with tofu. Sure it is simple, but so delicious and satisfying. This is not my recipe--I got it from another site, changing one or two things. You can add other vegetables, pickles or any of your other favorites to suit your taste.

    Recipe #132621

This is a simple yet wonderful recipe. It's from House & Garden Magazine 1964. I make it often in the winter. Looking at the ingredients you'd never guess how delicious it is. Everyone I serve this to loves it! By the way, I'm vegetarian so I use canned vegetable broth instead.

    Recipe #131198

Easy to make, last weeks and tastes delicious! You will find yourself putting this on almost anything once it's in your refrigerator.

    Recipe #121014

My friend has a star fruit tree that produces a surplus this time every year.I came up with this recipe for another way to us them.Wonderful with a hot curry.
