N.O. BBQ shrimp is not grilled or BBQ, it is a skillet dish in a buttery sauce. They serve it with heads-on shrimp that are not peeled and claim that the unpeeled shrimp impart a flavor that you won't get with peeled, which translates to the chefs are too lazy to peel the shrimp. Use chicken broth if it's all you can get, but FYI Knorr makes an excellent shrimp bouillion you can buy at Hispanic groceries that really rounds this dish out.

In college I worked for a Korean gentleman named Moon in his seafood/oriental grocery store. He was a wonderful chef who shared this and other recipes. This is a great marinade for grilled beef and poultry, and doubles as a dip for eggrolls and a substitute for soy sauce in fried rice. The addition of chopped ginger gives a whole different sauce that is good for all the same things. You can thicken it a little with corn starch and stir fry with it too.

I usually make my own graham cracker pie crust for chocolate cream pies like recipe #43100. The recipe I use is buttery and sweet. Some friends and their kids visited town and I wanted to make a couple of chocolate pies but I was really short on time so I went to the local Dollar store and bought already made graham cracker crusts. I tasted one and it was lame so I doctored it up like this and got all thumbs up.

This is the blue cheese dressing they made at a greek restaurant I used to work for. The chef there told me it was from the Palmer House in Chicago. It is really good on a lettuce wedge, for dipping ruffle chips, and for buffalo wings. You can use light mayo and sour cream but it's better with plain.

This is a sweet, very hot mustard sauce that is good with any ham recipe and on sandwiches. It is from the "Pirates Pantry" cookbook published by the Lake Charles La. Junior League, which no southern cooking aficionado should be without.

    Recipe #499084

This is a meat loaf made with ham that features a mustard glaze instead of the usual ketchup type on beef meat loaves. It makes a lot and leftovers make great sandwiches. If you want a ham loaf that really goes bang, substitute the recipe for Pirate's Pantry Hot Mustard Sauce (posted separately) for the glaze in this recipe.

    Recipe #499082

This is an easy no-fail recipe that is always moist and tender. The leftovers make excellent sandwiches.

I wanted to make a sandwich at home that tasted like a gyro but didn't have all the fat. These are best grilled or broiled and served with chopped tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, and red onions, and dressed with ranch dressing. They are good on buns or pita.

    Recipe #499069

This is an easy to make white clam sauce so simple it's a great everyday dish but so delicious it's a great dinner party dish served with a nice wine.

Ginger gives this sweet hot sauce its unique flavor. A friend's wife gave it to me on the condition that I would not share it with anyone.
