Lots of cocoa mixes on Zaar, but this is the one my family likes. I make a batch of this in October right before the leaves fall and keep it on hand the rest of the fall and winter. Sometimes for a gift I will buy mugs and put individually wrapped servings of the mix in a pretty bag. I place the bag and a swizzle stick inside the mugs with a tag tied to the handle with directions printed on how to make the cocoa. I'm estimating the servings.
There is no substitute for real homemade soup, or is there? As it turns out, this is a fast, easy and super tasty bowl of soup. I came up with this idea when I decided to "change up" my regular 20 minute potato soup - we were very happy with the results. Our D&D group devours this stuff! You can use milder sausage if you like, but the hot stuff sure makes it pop!
I love soup, and potato is definitely way up there on my list of favorites. Nothing really beats my homemade soups, but this is a very tasty and great alternative when you are short on time and want something hot, filling and comforting. I serve this with rolls, or sometimes with turkey club sandwiches.
This is a great addition to your dinner plans for when you want Chinese, but don't want to make the trip to town! You can make this with chicken, beef, pork, or you can make a vegetarian version if you prefer. Anyway I make it, my family and I really enjoy it!
This recipe is so simply and so yummy! I make it to go with traditional family dinners and my kids and dh love it. My kids pick out the onions and mushrooms (hey you can't win them all, right?), but like the flavor of the sweet peas. This is originally from a Taste of Home yearbook.
This is a great addition to any mexican dinner. I modified this recipe (from coo-books.com) out of a need for a fast, easy and make ahead accompaniment for a mexican meal. If you add chopped, cooked chicken it would be a wonderful main dish!
I created this recipe one year when I needed to serve 75 fourth graders at their annual Valentine's Dance. It was a huge success with the kids. See if your picky eaters will enjoy it! I serve it over rice.
These are amazing giant cookies that are chock full of everything good - almonds, pecans, chocolate chips and raisins. My dh, who can't stand raisins, couldn't keep his hands off of these cookies. Don't chop your pecan halves and leave the almonds in larger pieces as well. You're going to love these!
These are hands down the best cookie I have ever eaten (and I've eaten a LOT of cookies!). How can you go wrong with three types of chocolate and coffee? These make a fudgy-brownie type cookie with amazing results. The original recipe called for finely chopped espresso beans, but I tweaked this by using instant coffee for ease and flavor. Try these, I promise you will LOVE them!
There's no reason for your bread machine to be limited to just bread! Dust it off and break it out to make this delicious, moist meatloaf. You'll need to use the quick bread or cake cycle. Directions for cooking this in the oven are included as well.
A yummy and different loaf of quick bread that's prepared like a poke cake. This was listed in a local family newspaper advertisement around St. Patrick's Day, but you don't have to wait until March to enjoy this bread! We really enjoy it all year long.
