    From Postpunkkitchen

    Recipe #499467

A delicious sounding soup that seems like it ought to be good hot or cold. From The Blender Girl, who I first encountered here on Food.com, and now at healthyblenderrecipes.com. She's talented and very inspirational.

    Recipe #499430

Another recipe from Lindsay, the Healthy Herbivore.

    Recipe #499065

From the Happy Herbivore, an easy corn chowder with some interesting sounding flavors.

    Recipe #499064

Found this at Sweethealthyliving.com. An amzing young woman with a passion for all things healthy. Storing it here for convenience, I simply HAVE to try a cake made out of kale and pistachios!

    Recipe #498768

Whipped this together the other night and my wife LOVED it as a dinner salad for our Eat To Live program. She asked me to write it down and favorite it for her.

    Recipe #498583

I've been looking for a simple no-cook egg nog using egg substitutes. This sounds easy enough: no cook, blend, chill and serve. The recipe called for 1 cup non-dairy creamer (not my favorite), so I'm going to add some chia seeds to give it more body. Some alternate ideas include using dates and bananas in place of some or all of the sweetener. Might also work as a base for a tasty green smoothie.

    Recipe #497963

Take along snack for the healthy brown bag. From Fat Free Vegan, an unbelievably beautifully prepared website for all things healthy. While this recipe is not low fat, most of her recipes are. Check out her blog page.

    Recipe #497369

Another frivolous pizza idea while browsing at TJ's that turned out fantastic. Posting to save and share. Turned out like a nice cheesy steak sandwich.

    Recipe #494202

OK, so there was a great closeout on holiday mixers, 24 cans for $2. Problem was that half of them were tonic water, not a fav. Couldn't find a really tempting recipe, and there are no gin drinkers in the house, so improv time. Had some stragglers hanging around the fridge, and they conspired to make one great tasting spritzer/punch. Could be enhanced with gin or vodka.

    Recipe #493767

From the umami information center. Recipe attributed to Yoshihiro Takahashi, a "15th generation" chef.

    Recipe #493633

Just a whimsical idea that turned out really well. I used Trader Joe products, just for convenience sake, but I'm sure any combination of products would work equally well.

    Recipe #493118

One of those treats I've missed in life until now are Fuyu Persimmons. There are 2 main types of persimmon, these and the Hachiya variety, which must be ripened until they are mush, and then work well in baking. The Fuyu can be simply washed, sliced and eaten. They are very sweet, almost candy-like. This recipe allows them to be paired with the tartness of the pomegranate seeds, and with a simple honey lemon dressing that does double duty if you want to use this as a fruit salad. Just skip the greens and add chopped pears, apples or Asian pears.

    Recipe #493117

Another silly idea that worked out great. My daughter, who poo-pooed the idea, ate half the pie. It sounds weird, but think Fillet-o-fish, and give it a shot.

    Recipe #493077

From the awesome Reboot Your Life website. Affiliated with Joe Cross from "Sick, Fat and Nearly Dead". If you are, like me, are among those who are seriously questioning the food and lifestyle choices which are producing such negative results, I recommend Joe's movie as a starting point, and the website is loaded with recipes for juicing, and vegetarian meals for those not ready to take the full plunge.

    Recipe #492677

From the NY times "recipes for health" series.

    Recipe #492576

    Recipe #488500

Courtesy of Jeff Mauro from Food Network. Sounds like this will produce a very Chicago like giardinera for Italian beef and sausage sandwiches. (I used to use it on any sandwich in my fast food restaurant. My personal sandwich is a chili cheeseburger with sweet relish, grilled onions and giardineira!)

    Recipe #479841

    Recipe #465996

Courtesy of Smitten Kitchen, once again. A delicious looking salad/sandwich filling. She, in turn, credits Tom Colicchio for the concept.
