From the "Bread Bible" by Beth Hensperger. I make and freeze these for those mornings when toast or cereal just won't do! Yummy! I love to add plumped up raisins, nuts or cranberries and spices to the mix, or even replacing 1/3 the flour with whole-wheat or spelt flour.

    Recipe #126201

Best ever (and yummiest) hot-weather salad if you ask me. Has grains, has protein, has plenty of taste--what more could you ask for?

    Recipe #126108

PB & Chocolate - best combo ever, perfect for cravings and crappy days. This recipe is vegan friendly - and does not come out cakey (my pet peeve about vegan brownies).

    Recipe #121573

We found the original recipe in the LCBO's mag, tweaked it a bit and man is it ever great! It is perfect for those lemon lovers and lemon cravings!

    Recipe #118938

A fantastically versatile recipe, delicious and full of goodness. Make the night before to have some ready to go on a busy morning. This recipe suggests an apple-strawberry filling for the breakfast bars, but any fruit combination is possible. Some other successful fillings include: raspberry jam, marmelade and chopped cranberries, lemon curd and blueberries, strawberry banana, strawberry kiwi, strawberry and raspberry jams with blueberries, mashed banana and peanut butter, nut butter and chocolate chips, peach mango, apple sauce and raisins with cinnamon and brown sugar, raspberry fig, apple and peach, pear and raspberry. Anything you can think of really.

    Recipe #113954

This pea soup recipe has been in my family longer than anyone can remember, and is AT LEAST as old as my great, great grandmother, probably older than that even. My favorite soup ever, and now it is my husbands fave too. This is a vegan version, although it is lacto-vegetarian normally. Meat was only added to the soup by certain members of the family, and typically only for company.

    Recipe #113668

My mom makes this great black bean casserole. I have always loved it, and now it's on my husband's top 10 list of favorite foods!
