A single meal for me, but with a couple side dishes, this recipe could be enough for two. Feel free to play with the spices, because Cooking is a Creative Sport.

    Recipe #443727

There is usually just enough flavorful liquid in the final dish to prompt me to eat this with a spoon. The natural flavoring of the mushrooms is similar to MSG and when paired with the sweetness of sauted onions, that was enough flavor for me. However Cooking is a Creative Sport, so feel free to add spices. I found that adding a quarter teaspoon of curry powder during step four made a very pleasant variation, and the kitchen smelled wonderful.

    Recipe #411112

A sort of sweet, salty, but also a slightly spicy treatment of chicken and rice. The amount of Jalapeno Peppers you use is of course up to you. And if you have a favorite, but different method for cooking Pilafs, then go ahead, because Cooking is a Creative Sport.

    Recipe #408790

This recipe suggests leftover cooked chicken, however for a more formal presentation, a small boneless chicken breast could be grilled and placed on top of the pasta verdura. I have suggested Zucchini, however any vegetable that can be sliced or diced and heated quickly might be used. Remember That Cooking is a Creative Sport.

    Recipe #392279

On a recent showing of Alton Brown's Good Eats, he offered a recipe for Pepper Vodka. You do not need expensive ingredients. I found a one liter bottle of vodka with sort of a Russian name for under $7 and the peppercorn are from Tones. When it was done, mine was a nice shade of brown. Use the Pepper Vodka to spice up store bought tomatoes, or maybe make a spicy Bloody Mary. Cooking is a Creative Sport

    Recipe #367723

Using prepared salsa, allows the solo cook to make a quick meal without leftovers. the Vodka is of course optional but there are flavors in a tomato that can only be enjoyed in the presence of alcohol. Cooking is a Creative Sport.

    Recipe #367020

What started as another game of refrigerator sweep evolved into a light but tasty dish. Feel free to change the seasoning, because Cooking is a Creative Sport

    Recipe #363910

A rich and elegant side dish, but feel free to add other ingredients. Cooking is a Creative Sport.

    Recipe #363585

A nice side dish that is sweet and sour, soft and crunchy. Add cooked chicken to create a complete one dish meal. If you wish to make the dish vegetarian, any other light flavored liquid could be used. Cooking is a Creative Sport.

    Recipe #273115

Use your own frozen meatballs or there are some nice ones in the super market. Canned whole tomatoes could also be used, but this recipe was my way of using up a garden tomato that was slightly past it's slicing prime. The alcohol in the wine brings out hidden flavors in the tomato, but you can leave that out if you wish. Cooking is a Creative Sport.

    Recipe #246913

This is in fact a deconstruction of a new deli salad from a popular grocery chain in Minnesota. I made a few shortcuts that I could not verify, but who knows ?? All I know is that I offer you a hot weather potato salad with heat safe ingredients that does not contain eggs or dairy.

    Recipe #243972

Asking for a Chuck Eye Steak is like acknowledging membership in a secret society. You are greeted with a knowing smile, a nod of the head, and then just maybe two will emerge from some quiet corner. There are only a couple in each animal, and although they have a taste and tenderness of the more popular rib eye, the cost is considerably less. Please... only tell your favorite buddy.

    Recipe #238451

My inspiration for this sauce was based on a Carolina BBQ sauce, and I found that it works very well with lightly flavored white fish. Feel free to adjust the recipe porportions to meet your own preferences. Cooking is a Creative Sport.

    Recipe #210830

OTS means Off The Shelf, so I used pre-cooked frozen Meatballs available at any grocery store. Of course, you could make your own. The spices are my choice and a good place to start, but once again let me say Cooking is a Creative Sport. Serve over your favorite pasta, and add cheese toppings if you wish. The wine is important because it brings out hidden flavors in the tomatoes. This recipe can be doubled, or even beyond and cooked overnight in a Crock-Pot Slow Cooker.

    Recipe #207950

A good quality bourbon is needed to insure that an otherwise interesting way to use leftover chicken can become an impressive meal for two. Serve with a green vegetable or a salad

    Recipe #201605

Marinating the meat in the lemon juice adds a nice flavor and starts the tenderizing process. I used leftover roast beef, but ground beef or cooked chicken would also work well in this recipe Cooking is a Creative Sport.

    Recipe #200642

Ok ... so the celery and the garlic came from the frig, but the rest of the ingredients came off the pantry shelf.

    Recipe #197879

The Balsamic Vinaigrette adds a nice zing to this collection of leftovers and pasta. The dish can be served hot or refrigerated and served as a cold salad

    Recipe #189905

OK .. a couple of the ingredients are fresh, but this is a very quick and tasty salad for a pot luck.

    Recipe #180463

Using the microwave warms up the spam and insures that the stuffing stays in the sandwich
