    When a co-worker plopped a cooler full of Pheasant & Quail in my lap I was at a loss as to how to prepare them. He said to just fry them up! I searched here for a fried pheasant recipe but came up empty handed. I can't wait to try some of the other recipes I saw here ( because my freezer is now not only full of pheasant and quail but goose too!) but for now I will just write this one up and it it to the rest!     New Years Eve-- After getting the house sparkling, preparing all the little goodies and beautifully arranged on their trays (only to be devoured later), and getting myself spiffed up as well did my thoughts turn to... what am I going to drink tonight at our annual NYE party. Well, at my husband's insistence I finally tried this particular drink that he had found on "The Professional Bartender" program we have on our pc. Perhaps it helped me help my team win the Women VS. the Men at SCENE IT ( great game for movie buffs), perhaps not.. but I certainly enjoyed the drinks as well as getting my daily dose of Vitamin C!

    Another simple (and fast) yet tastey recipe from my husband's childhood. When I asked Curt the name of this particular recipe, he said, "Hamburger and Kidney Beans". When I asked again, he gave me the same answer. I wanted it to have some really cool name that I could use here on the site, but this is it: Hamburger and Kidney Beans. His mom would cook this and would just serve it plain. It was Curt that added the Mashed Potatoes later. I omitted the recipe for instant mashed potatoes, assuming that you all know how to make them to your own likeing. Of course you can always use real mashed potatoes, but in a time crunch you can use instant, or this would be great for left over mashed as well. You can adjust this recipe easily to fit your family size.

    During our annual New Years Eve Party, while drinking mass quanities of these, one of our guests came up with the name. If you like dill pickles but hate the afterburn of Tequila shots this will be your drink of choice! When drank correctly (no breathing inbetween shots) there is no tequilla burn AT ALL ! We have even concluded that the pickle juice negates a hangover! And this method is way neater than limes and salt and is WAY more fun to order at the bar.

    Fresh Green Beans work best in this recipe, but if not available then by all means use frozen or even canned. I used to think that green beans had to be cooked to death swimming in bacon grease like Grandma made but then someone once put a just off the vine green bean in my mouth and I fell in love with the crispness and try to use fresh all the time now.     I have to first Credit my sister Liz for inspiring this recipe with her Cocktail Weenies. I came up with my own version that I use for my chicken wings. I am a wuss when it comes to spicey heat in my food so this wing recipe works great for me! This is so simple to make and will make your home smell wonderful while they slow cook to perfection, not to mention they will have everyone licking the fingers afterward. Great for Game Day and Parties (a staple at any of ours). Hope you enjoy them!

    When we were making up my mind :o) about what I wanted to do for a cake, I just knew that I wanted something basic and simplistic. We chose a spice cake ( and I found the mix on sale!), but I couldn't find any frosting that I wanted. I wanted a parchment colored frosting. And there just wasn't any out there. Then I thought... CINNAMON! I scooped up a whole armload of white vanilla frosting and went to work on it. This is what came out as a winner and ended up being lovely in color and taste. Excellent with the spice cake by the way.
