I had poblano peppers. I had no desire to stand over the stove frying them individually. So, I went rummaging for recipes, found a few then made this. This is delicious. I wish I had doubled it. Feel free to sub black beans for the corn.

Straight out of my 'The best traditional recipes of Greek Cooking' that I brought home from Greece in 1990, with the exception of editing for standard measurements. Finally posting for ZWT9. NINE!

    Recipe #503911

Straight out of my Greek cookbook that I brought home from Greece in 1990. The only editing was so Food would accept measurements. 'teacup' didn't work. ;) This is one of my all time favorite recipes.

Transplanted here from The Mayo Clinic's website for ZWT9. I did alter it a smidge.

Oh wow! While looking for recipes for my Cajun/Creole Cookbook for ZWT9, I found this. Shamelessly swiped from foodgeeks.com, I edited it ever so slightly to how I've made hollandaise since I was 15. I love hollandaise & can't wait to try this version!

    Recipe #503735

Found for ZWT9 at PBS Louisiana -- Ms. Lucy's Classic Cajun Culture & Cooking.

Straight from my Veggiecation email! What a great program to teach kids about veggies - check them out at veggiecation.com. The only thing I changed was the title. ;)

Oooh yeah! Tasting Table delivered this tasty morsel right directly to my inbox! Originally called 'Freekeh Salad with Cauliflower, Cucumbers, Sumac and Dill'. The story behind the recipe: "Neat Freekeh" Heyday's vibrant summer grain salad: http://www.tastingtable.com/entry_detail/good_taste/13990 I did edit the recipe a wee bit to personal tastes.

Another tasty recipe found at Syrian Cooking and submitted by Ghinwa Alameen. I shudder to think how much yogurt I need to make enough of this for my family, lol. NOTE! Syrian yogurt is thicker than western yogurts. Try either Greek yogurt draining your yogurt for awhile. Cooking time is for the pasta.

I was googling along...looking for additional NA/ME recipes...and stumbled across this tasty morsel at a site simply called 'Syrian Cooking'. It was originally submitted by Ghinwa Alameen. Nom nom!!

    Recipe #501957

I found this on someone's blog. I edited her recipe to (re) add 1TB sugar. Her comment: "I did like the play of textures with the crispy noodles and fluffy egg though. I would definitely try this recipe again, especially for a brunch with other people!"

    Recipe #501054

Saloona is a mildly spicy vegetable and meat broth which can be eaten on its own or with rice. This version uses chicken. I found this on a Qatari travel website. 1/4c tomato puree was originally '1 small packet tomato puree'. Please advise if you know that I am wrong in my interpretation!

    Recipe #500979

I was looking for something different to do with leftover ham. I found pea soup & tetrazzini recipes. I don't like mushrooms, so I edited, altered & combined a few recipes to come up with this... it's probably closer to mac & cheese with meat than tetrazzini but oh well! Being lazy, I added about 6c baby spinach to make it a 1 dish meal. ;)

The next time you buy a bunch of kohlrabi, COOK the leaves - they're delicious! They are firm & mild. This is most likely adapted from a recipe that I saw online while looking for guidelines. It's VERY quick & easy. The 'Asian Salt' I used is McCormick's Asian Style Spiced Sea Salt with sea salt, garlic, sesame seed, sugar, orange peel, ginger, coconut, red bell pepper, red pepper, onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, and some crap. Feel free to add your own flavorings in lieu of this mixture if you prefer.

    Recipe #498446

I defrosted turkey cutlets. Next, I found a potential recipe. Then I altered that recipe. This is what I did. This is easily doubled. It received RAVE reviews. If you don't have buttermilk, use whole milk with a splash of lemon juice. It will thicken in a few minutes. Also, feel free to switch up the seasoning. I did. ;)

    Recipe #498436

I gleaned this from Spicy Vegetarian Yahoo Group years ago. We LOVE it. And it is so easy!

I've been making this for years. It's fast, easy & delicious! I don't recall where I first found the recipe but it's not here, yet.

    Recipe #497974

I had an idea but couldn't find a corresponding recipe ANYWHERE so I made one up. The Picky One requested I season the stuffed squash with garlic. This is what I came up with & the results were great! Vegan, too. This seems to make a lot but the 4 of us finished it all! It is satisfying without being overly filling. I want to use this vinaigrette on other things like roasted brussels sprouts.

    Recipe #494112

I had a craving & couldn't find a recipe. So, I'm submitting one. The eggplant gives the sauce a 'meaty' texture. This is vegan until you add the grated cheese Peeling the eggplant is up to you, depending on your personal preferences.
