The sauce from Raisin' Canes restaurant, also similar to a few other chicken finger restaurants (like Guthrie's.) I looked at tons of websites, and combined recipes until it tasted the same to me. This makes enough for 2-3 people to dip chicken, texas toast, and fries in.
Delicious non-alcoholic drink. Use Vanilla, Cherry, Orange, Raspberry, Almond, Hazelnut, Caramel or any other flavor of syrup. This recipe is a little lighter than other Italian soda recipes. For ZWT7. From caressrecipes.
Refreshing treat during the 10 hot summer months we experience each year here in the south :-) Its quick and easy to toss together. You will need an ice shaver. I like it really tart, you can make it milder by adjusting the amounts of sugar and lime juice.
Light green tea taste when you want something different for dessert. (Green tea ice cream isn't on our diet any more, so I make this sugar free/ fat free pudding instead.) If you want a more intense flavor, adjust the amount of green tea powder as desired.
A refreshing tropical treat. I like to unmold the popsicles, wrap them in wax paper, and store in a freezer bag so I can use my molds to make other flavors without having to consume the entire batch. Taken from dailycandy for ZWT9.
Cheap, simple salad for sandwiches. I don't ever remember eating it on buns, but for some reason we always call it gooey buns? Sometimes I run the pickles through the food processor, other times I just chop it myself. I think that this recipe came from my Grandma, but I'm not sure :-) The serving size is just a guess.
I make at least a gallon of this every day. Simple and satisfying. My husband has to have his sweet tea, so this cuts back the calories and stretches those little tubs. For those who don't use sugar substitutes, I have also made it with lemonade flavored kool aid and sugar- the ice cool lemonade flavor goes great in it.
My tea kettle broke, so I figured out how to make iced tea in the microwave, which isn't difficult to do, but I thought someone else might like to know how. I like to use 4 green tea bags, a lemonade crystal light, and add 1/8 cup of honey - it tastes almost like the Arizona green tea with ginseng.
I have been trying to find a ranch dressing recipe that I like that doesn't contain the free glutamate found in msg and soybean oil. I really like this blend, although it is pretty thick for a salad dressing.
Thick frosting that dries sort of shiny - perfect for cookies that need to be stacked and taken somewhere. I like the recipes I've seen for plain icing that dries, and played with it to make a peanut butter version since my father in law is always asking for peanut butter cookies. Prep time doesn't include frosting the cookies, which will vary depending on how detailed you get. I iced 32 (2-3") cookies.
Pepperoni pizza flavor in a chilled dip. You could add a diced tomato in with the sour cream if you don't have a problem with free glutamates.
I use Hormel Turkey Pepperoni, which is MSG free in spite of "spices" listed in the ingredients.
Smorrebrod is an open faced sandwich from Denmark. There are several great remoulade recipes on 'zaar to choose from. This recipe makes one sandwich, but is easily multiplied to serve more. From Saveur magazine, for ZWT6.
A refreshing tart carbonated komquat-ade from Cambodia. Calamondins are a cross between a kumquat and a mandarin - I was unable to find either at my local grocery so I made it using 1 medium sized naval orange. The original recipe calls for 3 tbsp of sugar, which makes an incredibly tart beverage - I used sprite and 1/2 cup of sugar because the original was too strong for my tastes. from khmerkromrecipes.com
A refreshing yogurt based drink that is popular in Japan. Not exactly the same as the real stuff, but very close, and the ingredients are common. If you couldn't find citric acid, but Fruit Fresh is mostly citric acid, and it works fine for this recipe. The syrup will keep in the fridge for at least a few months, if not longer.
