These low fat, fruity scones are perfect for a special breakfast or brunch.

    Recipe #118506

This is a delicious, low fat bread.

    Recipe #118507

Quick lunch that uses up the leftovers from last night's salmon...or you can used canned salmon instead. Dill, Dijon mustard, and celery take the "boring" out of salmon (or tuna) salad! This is good in a wrap with some tomato, cheese, and red-leaf lettuce.

    Recipe #118379

Sweet, fruity, spicy little gems. These luscious muffins are made with whole wheat flour, oatmeal, wheat germ, and fresh they are as good for the rest of your body as they are for your taste buds! They were emphatically voted a "keeper" by the taste testers at our house. Prep time includes peeling and chopping apples. This recipe makes a pretty big batch, but it is easily halved for smaller families! :-)

    Recipe #118378

I LOOOOOVE this stuff!!!! A lovely soup, filling and flavorful. It is chock-full of chicken, potatoes, and wild rice; carrots add flavor and color; cheese and milk give it a wonderful creamy texture. Serve with hot bread and fresh vegetables or fruit!

    Recipe #118376

Delicious! Use as a marinade for lamb roast, lamb steaks, or lamb cubes for shishkebabs.

    Recipe #118377

Delicious, healthy, and quick -- it only takes as long as it does to dump everything in the pan!

    Recipe #115761

“Apples and raisins provide the moistness, which means that less oil can be used in the low saturated fat, low cholesterol, and low sodium coffee cake.” Recipe from the UMC’s Fit for Life Campaign.

    Recipe #115632

These muffins are delicious and have a great texture, and they are 100% healthy! No refined flour or sweeteners. We have a big family, so this recipe makes a lot of muffins, but it is easily halved for a smaller group. To make the muffins lower in fat, replace half of the oil with unsweetened applesauce. I also use "white whole-wheat" flour, which is softer than that made with red wheat (but has the exact same nutritional value).

    Recipe #115432

These are my new favorite cookies. The cranberries are sweet-tart taste explosions, and the almonds add a delightful crunch. Plus, they're whole wheat, which is always a plus with me! The recipe is from Jonathan's Organic Foods.

    Recipe #115238

This is good as a side dish for bean burritos, chicken fajitas, or other Mexican food.

    Recipe #114978

A delicious recipe from Bob's Red Mill. Sometimes we make it with blueberries too. It's really moist and just sweet enough. Whether for a special breakfast or for dessert with a scoop of ice cream, this healthier version of coffee cake is sure to please everybody!

    Recipe #114838

Mmm...a cool, fruity smoothie on a hot day! This is an official "Five A Day" recipe.

    Recipe #114552

For all you "raw foodists" out there -- here's apple pie without cooking! I got this from a friend and have never tried it myself, but I'm sure it's good.

    Recipe #114264

These got top ratings from my brothers, the muffin maniacs. And they're made with honey and whole wheat flour, so my mom loved them too! They are golden on the outside, moist on the inside, and look and smell just like "bakery" bran muffins. Enjoy! The original recipe is from Hodgson Mill: I made a few changes (as I always do) in order to make them a bit healthier.

    Recipe #113958

Juicy oranges, crunchy almonds, smooth and luscious dates...and with a cinnamon/orange "dressing" over all, this fruit salad is beyond delicious.

    Recipe #113740

Chock full of delicious blueberries, these beautiful and nutritious muffins are perfect for a special breakfast. They use honey as sweetener, not sugar, and are made with whole wheat flour. Enjoy! Original recipe courtesy of Mrs. Beejee Herr -- I've made some changes and now can call them my own :-)

    Recipe #112485

Coleslaw with a bit of a zing! It looks pretty on your plate and is a nice change of pace from the usual cabbage slaw. "The longer it sits, the better it gits!" Leftovers are great on sandwiches and hamburgers.

    Recipe #112449

I swear this cheesecake recipe originated in the kitchens of Mount Olympus. The crust is perfect, the filling creamy and light, and the simple sour cream topping is fantastic. With a delicate hint of lemon (increase the amount of lemon extract if you prefer a stronger flavor) and a flawless appearance (no need to worry about cracks, since the topping will cover them), this cake is just right to finish out a special dinner. To increase the "wow factor," spoon fruit compote on top just before serving. This scrumptious dessert is also very easy to make and tastes just as good when made with low-fat and/or fat-free ingredients -- you've got to try it! Because of the long amount of time required to cool and chill the cake before serving, I'd recommend that you make this a day ahead of time. Enjoy!

    Recipe #111476

This is something I invented for breakfast this morning. It's absolutely delicious!
