From Kraft. I can't wait to make them for the kids as a special treat! A perfect Valentine surprise. Cook time is cooling time.
(I loved the idea the first reviewer had and wanted to add it to the recipe itself, "Substituting crisped cereal for the pecans would make it special for the little ones who are allergic to nuts" Thanks ohgal for such a great suggestion!)
I wanted a stew that I could make in a crock pot that had mushrooms in it but no tomatoes...this is what I came up with. The family loved it. Some ate it "as is" and some added a little ketchup. When I don't have beef stock available, I use 4-5 beef bouillon cubes dissolved in the water. Canned mushrooms can be used in a pinch.
These are my hubby's favorite Christmas cookies. His Great Aunt Gin used to make them for him every year and it just isn't Christmas without them. She always made green Christmas Trees and pink Wreaths because those were her two favorite colors. Since they use all shortening they are a very crisp cookie. The recipe is originally from the cookbook that came with the Mirro cookie press. (If you prefer a butter cookie, I recommend Recipe #98883)
I love the combination of the fresh cranberries' tartness and the sweetness of the white chocolate. It would make an excellent addition to a holiday brunch or luncheon even. To make it a little more "waistline friendly", I made it with light butter and only 1/2 cup of white chocolate chips. Originally from a Dunkin' Donuts flier.
