I came up with this recipe when I had some chicken and no idea what to make. I wanted to use balsamic vinegar to flavor the chicken and onions. My husband liked it well enough for me to write it down, so I have!
I made up this recipe when I had a fresh cabbage to use and was craving stuffed cabbage leaves. This is basically stuffed cabbage done on the stovetop.
This stew recipe is from Heart Healthy Living. It was very good and filling on a winter's evening. I found that the non-quick-cooking barley needed 50 minutes to cook, not the 30-45 they suggest.
