This is another recipe I got from my wonderful neighbour Ardie. You may think it is a little bothersome to make as you have to start two nights before the party, but I find it makes party prep all that much easier. Unsure of the serving size as I always have many appetizers at a party.
We love to entertain friends for breakfast on lazy Saturday mornings. When I phone my friends to see if they are awake enought yet to get together for a cup of Joe they usually groan and say only if I make a batch or two of these babies. You can add fresh raspberries instead of the raisins to make them even better. Serve with clotted cream and homemade jam. Phone a friend, brew the coffee and enjoy.
This is an old recipe from my Mom's magic baking powder book. This is a brunch favorite at our house, my son has even learned how to make these so he can freeze them for quick breakfasts. Pop into the microwave or toaster.
Tempted to eat these for breakfast everyday. These are a staple as a breakfast food on the long drive to Grandma's house. You can add raisins or any other dried fruit if you desire. Honey, can we stop for a coffee? I know we have only been driving 10 minutes!
This is one of those recipes that become an old standby. I double the sauce and throw it over a large package of chicken, divide and freeze to cook later. I freeze them in small packages so when we go camping all I have to do is grill at the lake. No fuss or cleanup.
