This is a very simple but amazingly flavourful root vegetable stew. It was created one evening when I was trying to come up with something lighter after a weekend of feasting. While not exactly vegan, it can be by simply changing the chicken broth for vegetable broth. Please, experiment with it, add what you want (seasoning, other vegetables, legumes), then come back and let me know what you did and how it turned out.

    Recipe #438950

This recipe is from Frank D'angelo, of D'angelo Brands. Hubby and I have eaten at his restaurant and the food is fabulous. This is no exception.

    Recipe #435827

This recipe has been modified several times by members to make it vegetarian (vegan even), and still it's a popular recipe. I've decided to post the vegetarian version so it will be official. This is not vegan, but can be converted easily by subbing the tortellini for plain pasta.

    Recipe #410759

This recipe is from Weight Watchers and is amazing. So flavourful with lots of veggies.

    Recipe #356836

This is just something I whipped up off the top of my head. The family loved it. The sauce is rich without being too fatty. Wonderful accompanied with mashed potatoes and vegetable of your choice. I've listed Mrs. Dash, but almost any seasoning mix (McCormicks, President's Choice, etc.) would do.

    Recipe #150324

I love pasta. It's so versatile you could eat it every day of the week and not have the same dish twice. This dish is a throw-together type dish that is so easy. It's the 'whatever happens to be in the fridge or cupboard' type dish. You can add tuna, salmon, shrimp or even legumes as the protein, and any vegetable in the crisper, or none at all. Kick it up with more garlic and spices, or just salt and pepper. Your main ingredients form the staple of the recipe; pasta, egg and broth, and cheese.

    Recipe #110940

I found this years ago in a Canadian Living Magazine. I made it several times, then forgot about it until recently, only I couldn't find my copy of the recipe. Sooooo, I guessed at it and it came out pretty much the way I remember. My recipe calls for 2 cloves of garlic, but use at your own discretion.

    Recipe #108726

This is such a versatile recipe. As long as you have chicken, potato and curry paste, you can add what ever vegetable you have in the fridge. Curry paste can be adjusted to suit your heat preference, but the coconut milk cuts the heat level of the spices, so bear that in mind when making this dish. Served with rice it can be stretched to feed 8 people, or as is will serve 4 to 6 people (depending on their appetite).

    Recipe #105521

The other night I wanted salmon, but was busy rushing around the house cleaning and putting groceries away. I peered into the cupboard and grabbed four things that caught my attention, poured and measured them into a jar, put the lid on and shook. I poured it over the salmon, let it sit for 1/2 an hour and then grilled. My mother and husband kept raving all through dinner about how good the salmon was. I hope it was the marinade and not just hunger. These are the proportions (approx.) used.

    Recipe #104689

This recipe came to me by email from Allrecipes. It sounded good (and easy).

    Recipe #102629

I'm just responding to a "What's for dinner tonight" thread. This is what we had for dinner last night. It was just thrown together, but turned out delicious. Changes and comments are welcome.

    Recipe #94754

I originally got this recipe from WW. It's become such a staple around our house. I've added a few more veggies to it to make it a more complete meal. It's designed for a smaller crock pot, so if you have a large one, just double the recipe. Chicken can be thawed, partially thawed or even frozen; just adjust the cooking time. Fast, easy and oh so delicious.

    Recipe #94033

I originally found this on AllRecipes.com and modified it to meet with my family's preferences. My daughter, who is one of the fussiest people I know, even likes this (although she does manage to avoid getting any chunks of vegetables in her bowl). We like it hot, but you can cool the heat by using sweet sausage and not adding the dried chilis. If you can find them use the mini tortellini.

    Recipe #92801

My problem with Mac and Cheese is it's never cheesy enough. This one even impresses my younger daughter, who is a Kraft Mac and Cheese fan.

    Recipe #92795

This is my own concoction. It's a little like jambalaya but those who've had the real thing will know it's not. Hence the name Jamba. If you don't like it spicy, cut back on the seasoning and use sweet italian sausage. Throw a little cooked shrimp in as well.

    Recipe #92687

This recipe is quick, easy and sooooooo delicious. 5 minutes to prepare and 15 - 20 minutes to cook. Use fresh salmon for best results. Steaks or fillets can be used, however I like using the fillets - no bones.
