A different way to use that wonderful veggie when it is so abundant at this time of year. Easy to make and makes a good side dish. This came from TASTE - a magazine put out by the British Columbia Liquor Control Board. I want to keep it safe.

    Recipe #463237

An easy, all in one breakfast that can be prepared ahead of time. Can be made for a couple or a baseball team with equal ease. I have had this recipe for years and still like it.

    Recipe #395578

A fantastic alternative to the ho-hum baked beans served at BBQs. This tasty side can be served hot at the BBQ or cold as a salad type dish. Really good the day after. Just add some more liquid and warm slowly, covered. Black Eyes have a natural smoky flavour and go really well with BBQ or just try as a side dish with whatever! I have had this recipe for about 30 years and just love it when I rediscover the wonderful blend of tastes. For best results, do not use canned Black Eyes - although, speed may require that you do... the taste won't be the same. Well worth the effort of soaking and preparing. Time of preparation does not include soaking time.

    Recipe #421035

A quick, easy, tasty breakfast treat. Served with sausage and/or bacon and syrup or jam, it is a simple breakfast.

    Recipe #406381

Planking brings out the full flavour of salmon and this recipe from my favourite BBQ buddy, Ted Reader, is one of my favourites. It is so easy and incredibly delicious. You will need an untreated cedar plank (at least 10x8x1 inch), soaked in water overnight. Preparation time does not include soaking time for the plank.

    Recipe #434107

An easy, crispy and tasty side dish for any main course. Excellent with a roast or just a steak and salad. I have had this for about 25 years.

    Recipe #406334

Really easy versatile accompanyment for any meal... especially a stew. Dry ingredients can be premade and stored in an air tight container for up to one month.

    Recipe #400967

Forget your Buffalo Wings. These are a treat unrivalled and they will vanish as quickly as you can drag them off the BBQ. Thanks to Ted Reader, the Guru of the Q. You will find that the use of a grill basket will make the cooking of the wings much easier. I have also done these in the broiler.

    Recipe #399107

An easy appetizer that is great for patio gatherings and other informal occasions. I got this from a Mrs. Renfro's salsa jar [ www.renfrofoods.com ] and I want to store it here for safe keeping.

    Recipe #462381

An Irish recipe that is just too good not to share. It comes from an old book, "The Best of Ireland". This is made with chunks of salmon with eggs, mushrooms and rice in a flaky pastry and it so tasty! Serve with hollandaise sauce and some steamed vegetables. It looks a lot harder than it is.

    Recipe #439311

This is a little work, but well worth it. An Irish fish pie is wonderful comfort food and a meal in itself. The fish that I used can be replaced by whatever you can get fresh, just make sure you have a firm white fish and a smoked fish. The addition of live mussels is also a great boost.

    Recipe #470771

Sweet and tangy ribs that are a little spicy and some of my friends say are the ultimate! From Ted Reader's book, "Sticky Fingers and Tenderloins". Used with his permission.
