I changed a recipe around a bit and came up with this delicious cherry icing. It is so pretty on cakes or cupcakes. Every time I look at or eat a Maraschino cherry, my Heart smiles.
This icing is a soft and sweet. It goes well with chocolate or white cake. I recommend refrigerating the cake after it is iced. It will set up better that way and keep longer.
My husband brought home a freezers worth of elk meat from a hunt in Montana. I am a firm believer in eating whatever is brought home from a hunt. I really love elk meat! It has a mild flavor and is a good source of lean protein. If marinated, even the "tougher" cuts come out great. I recommend cooking to medium/medium rare for ideal tenderness, but I have had it cooked well done and it is still tasty.
My husband remembers the smell of the field dressing the elk in full rut, so I came up with the recipe to "help" him enjoy elk as much as I do.
I've tried numerous shredded chicken sandwich recipes and this one is far and away the best one. It was given to me by a friend who served it at her parent's 50th wedding anniversary reception. Simple and tasty! It can be easily doubled for large crowds. Be sure to use a Reynold's Crock Pot Liner for easy clean up. Serving number is an estimate. It depends on how much shredded chicken you pile onto the bun :)
I found this on the Goosberry Patch website several years ago. It didn't have a name so I came up with this one. It is simple and delicious. You must use the Marukan Seasoned Gourmet Rice Vinegar for it to taste right. Toss with greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, bacon bits, onion, strawberries, and cheddar cheese or your own salad combination. Delicious!
