I was amazed at the amount of flavor in the recipe. That little bottle of salad dressing really packs a punch.
The original instructions didn't say anything about adding some oil to the pan before stir-frying your shrimp, but I stir-fried the shrimp in the same large pan I used to fry the wonton wrappers (after dumping out the oil).
One of the many many items that went into the making of my daughter's first birthday cake; this is a great medium for the decorations. It is edible, but you'll probably chip a tooth if you try.
You will also need 1 Tbs Gum-tex or 1 Tbs tragacanth gum for this recipe. These ingredients could not be recognized.
This recipe is from the King Arthur Flour Baker's Companion. It's one of the many recipes I tested when making my daughter's first birthday cake. Although this one was a little too soft for sculpting, it tasted fantastic; very fine and moist. This one I filled with an apricot filling.
This recipe is from Colette Peters, in a wonderful book called Cakes To Dream On. This is one of the many recipes I tested when making my daughter's first birthday cake, and this is the best buttercream I've ever tasted. While still very buttery, it doesn't feel like you're simply eating a stick of butter. Awesome buttercream, you must try it!
This recipe came from a Stonyfield Farm Yogurt cookbook. The yogurt makes 'em moist, the ham and cheese makes 'em awesome. I've made these twice in the last week, my husband likes them so much. Prep time does not include time needed to cook ham if you use the country ham such as I did.
This is supposed to be a copycat of the sauce served on Hooter's Hotwings. I've never been in a Hooter's (and won't ever be)so I don't know how authentic the taste is, but these are quite tasty on hot wings, deep fried plain or breaded either one works nicely with this sauce.
I like these because they are so quick and easy. Even though you use Bisquick, they don't come out tasting like Bisquick or like baking powder. I always have to double the batch to make sure I get some!
From BH&G Biggest Book of Cookies. I made these tonight after cries of "What's for dessert?" They're all gone. For an extra little treat, make these with the new Hershey's Kisses filled with caramel. YUM! YUM!
I had some spinach for a salad, but I can never finish those big bags before they turn slimy, so this recipe from meals.com was the perfect way to use the rest of the spinach. The recipe calls for frozen spinach, but fresh works just fine, 2 or 3 cups of it, chopped up in the food processor. I also used 1/3 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs in place of the bread slices, the ingredient list, however, is being posted in it's original state.
