My little boy loves to help cook. I let him experiment with ingredients on the weekend and he made this lovely drink. Cold and creamy...he's our own little chef :)

    Recipe #149149

20 years ago I worked the graveyard shift in a hotel restaurant in town. This was one of the most popular items on the menu with the late night drinkers.

    Recipe #113789

A beautiful neon-purple dip that is healthy, low in fat & most important...yum!!! Has a bit of a heat kick. Serve with celery & carrot sticks for entertaining or swap it for mayo on a salad sandwich.

    Recipe #363501

My kids always ask me to buy bananas when I shop, however these same short people tend not to want to eat them when it comes to home time. I end up with bunches going brown in the fruit bowl....I really don't like waste :( There were 4 bananas left and would have to be thrown out by the morning...so I whipped these up and the kids loved them. You could insert sticks to have like a lolly pop, however I chose not to, so to avoid the inevitable sword fights at the dinner table.

    Recipe #108679

A yummy easy muffin - I stumbled on in an attempt to use up the left over sour cream & some browning bananas - I whipped out my trusty blender and threw this togeather with some items I usually keep in the cupboard. In just over 5 minutes they were in the oven....and most of that time was spent trying to separate the patty papers from each over.

    Recipe #155922

Yummy golden little pancakes served warm with jam or honey. Every Australian would have made these many times throughout their youth. My son had his little friend over today and I ended up making a second batch because the boys gobbled them up and begged for more.

    Recipe #102655

The mint had overtaken my herb garden...and so began the discovery of my children's favourite meal. It is a simple rustic recipe, which makes my life easier.

    Recipe #89479

Many many years ago my daughter brought home a recipe that was shared at her kindergarten class by a little girl called Brianne for her nanna's biscuits. The note at the bottom of the recipe made it worth keeping all this time & although I have not made this yet I thought that someone may remember them from their childhood. The note reads: "This makes lots & lots of biscuits. My nanna had 5 children during the war and she used it lots so she could feed the children. She never bought biscuits all her life. Nanna always made these for all her grandchildren's birthday parties and they are my favourite biscuits. by Brianne"

    Recipe #408780

My mum passed away in 1990. I loved her chicken livers - rich tomato sauce with perfect livers and garlic and oregano. My mistake was never to get her to teach me how she made it when she was still with us. I have been trying to recreate this recipe for 20 years and it only touches the hem of what my mother's was. Yet my kids love it and so I will put it here for safe keeping so it can not be lost for them

    Recipe #495672

I found this recipe in the 1991 edition of the Australian Women's Weekly. It has been a family favourite ever since. A very good recipe to fall back on to if you forget to defrost some meat for dinner.

    Recipe #90662

Going back 17 years when I was a newly wed - we didn't have the money to fix our broken oven so I made most of our meals in the microwave . This was one of our favourites.

    Recipe #217307

I found this recipe in an old Woman's Weekly that I was about to recycle. Ideal for a picnic lunch.

    Recipe #363752

We may not get snow for Christmas, but we make a beautiful sweet slice called "White Christmas". Great for gift baskets - definitely an Australian icon. This recipe is from a clipping I have kept as a young bride circa 1989.

    Recipe #199221

I love this recipe. Best of all I don't have to battle with the kids to get them to eat their dinner...they love it too.

    Recipe #97905

Simple and tasty. Uses ingredients I always keep in the pantry. Perfect cold as finger food for a picnic lunch or hot with vegetable for dinner.

    Recipe #125017

My Nana makes great a Spanakopita, but refuses to show me how to make it because I don't visit enough. It has taken me years of practice but now my father thinks mine is better than his mother's--don't tell Nana.

    Recipe #87305

A very easy recipe to make with wonderful orange cranberry flavours.

    Recipe #425818

A moist spicy slice my family loves and is fought over at gatherings. Made on wholemeal flour and raw sugar - still devoured by fussy teenage children despite the"health factor"

    Recipe #472395

A lady at work told me about this recipe. Good for teaching kids to cook - and makes a tasty & filling meal.

    Recipe #221377

If I ask the kids to choose what they would like for dinner - they always ask for "Egg & Lemon soup... the one with the meat balls" I have tampered with this recipe so much that the print-out is all but scribble. We like our soup with zing & custard like thickness.
