A friend gave me this recipe awhile back and I converted it to gluten free this morning. It is a nice and tasty gluten free cake. The conversion is easy so I'll post the recipe as written and the gluten free portion will be in the notes section.
This recipe is all about you. You be the judge as to the amount of heat from the chili sauce and make the decision "to fry or not". Baked or fried these strips are delicious, crunchy and well seasoned. Please note: The prep time includes the marinade time and the cook time is for baking the strips.
These burgers are packed with flavor and are a great fork and knife burger. Serve this with the slaw for a delicious low carb meal. If preferred they can be served on ciabatta rolls with the slaw on the side.
These are an adaption of a recipe that I found in a Reader's Digest recipe booklet. I am listing these with gluten free options. If using a gluten flour these will probably turn out a little thinner. They are packed with lots of healthy, high fiber ingredients for a healthier you. I served this with a mixed berry sauce sweetened with a couple of tablespoons pure maple syrup.
I have been gluten free for several months and am learning how to do so while enjoying the simple pleasures in life. Lettuce wrapped burgers are delicious but sometimes nothing satisfies like a real down home burger on a fresh baked bun.
What better gift than the gift of a tasty and relaxing meal? Treat yourself and the special someones to a nice dinner that is tasty and quick to prepare. It is elegant enough for a special event and quick enough for any day of the week. This dish is packed with vegetables and loaded with flavor.
The holiday season is upon us. Time to make those homemade gifts of quick breads, muffins and bagels. What better than to include a container of your specially made spread to a bread basket. This is super quick and can be ready in 5 minutes.
What a way to say thank you or to give as a special holiday gift than with truffles. These are naturally sweetened with juice, honey, dried fruits and shredded coconut then dipped in tempered white chocolate. A true delight to share with those you care about.
I love sourdough and was happy to find that a starter could be made with gluten free flour. This was a recipe that I found on line and tweaked a bit. It is made with commercial yeast. I may try my hand later on with growing a wild yeast starter but time will tell. For the moment I am happy to be doing some sourdough baking again.
Having recently gone gluten free I was sad about not having the ability to make sourdough waffles. I found a brown rice starter on line that I tweaked and then developed my waffles. Most of the recipes I found were high in starch and I wanted something with a little more fiber. These waffles freeze well and can be enjoyed later by placing frozen waffle in toaster oven and toasting until desired crispness. Hope you enjoy!
This is a recipe that was adapted from Kraft Foods. It was a big hit at my recent cookout. I made my own barbecue sauce and used 1960's Catalina Dressing for the quick marinade. This is delicious served with smoked corn on the cob and coleslaw.
