This recipe is from the Phillipsburg, KS United Methodist Church cookbook from 1984. The original recipe was just called "Green Beans". My sisters and I have nicknamed them 1000 calorie green beans but I now call them Thanksgiving Green Beans since this is when I usually make them.
We went to Hatch, NM to their Chile Festival in the fall of 2011. We had green chile literally every meal and it was wonderful!! This recipe is a very simple one that comes from the Hatch cookbook I got there. The house smells like a Mexican restaurant when cooking and you can use it so many ways. Over burritos, hamburgers, or even eggs for breakfast.
I've never been a fan of fat free dressings, not enough flavor. One day I had made this mustard for a pork loin and when I mixed it with Ranch to make the salad dressing go farther I couldn't believe how good it was!! Adjust the amount of mustard to dressing to suit your taste
