Delicious fall and winter-time soup. I got this from the Light Cooking book. Because my mom is the only one in the family who likes onions, we cut back to about 3/4 c, but it didn't really change the soup. Any of the ingredients in here could be added to or taken from to suit your own taste. :)
As the title says, these cookies are my dad's absolute favorite. We only make them once or twice a year because they're so special. Delicious, yet surprisingly easy. *Note* The amount of flour you use will vary depending on the temp, humidity level, elevation, etc.
This recipe is something my family has made for quite a few generations on my mother's side. It is incredibly easy to make (with only three primary ingredients!), but it has always been a favorite at the dinner table! It's also a great dish for any occassion - dinner parties, holidays, or your standard evening family dinner. It is particularly yummy in the winter, when the homey warmth of the corn just fills you right up. :)
I made this sidedish for a German club Thanksgiving party and everyone loved it! To make it really easy, use precooked bacon. You can also cook 3-4 cubed Granny Smith apples with the potatoes for a slightly tart taste. Serve it warm.
