Oh - I just love, love, LOVE this recipe! They are so easy, have a divine almond taste and fantastic texture. The amount of extract may seem surprising, but let me assure you it works perfectly in these chewy, sweet bars. Yield is approx.

    Recipe #83875

I received an advanced copy of the new cookbook, "Desserts That Have Killed Better Men Than Me" which inspired me to have a dessert/ slumber party last weekend with my girlfriends. We drank wine, did facials, watched movies, and tested as many of the desserts from this book as we could. This was one of my personal favourites, as I adore anything apple. Don't be put off by the prunes; they add a deep, rich, plum flavour to the sauce. Smashing with vanilla ice cream. (Times are estimates).

Another one from, "Desserts That Have Killed Better Men Than Me" by Jeremy Jackson. These are really interesting - classified as a cookie, but totally unlike any cookie I've ever had. The directions walk you through each step very specifically, so don't be worried if they seem too wordy :). Really very easy and lovely, especially in hotter months. Again, times are est.
