DH said this was the best pie that I had ever made which actually made me feel a little miffed!! I just threw this together the other night, and he thought it was better than those pies that I have spent hours on--the nerve of the man! It is yummy, but not for the purists perhaps unless they are in a hurry--hee hee!!!!

    Recipe #85953

YUMMY. I concocted this recipe in an attempt to copy a cake that was served in a deli where I and my co-workers went to have lunch at least twice a week. It comes pretty close to the original, and it keeps well--seems to get better as the days go on, although my family loved it so much it didn't last that many days!!!

    Recipe #85798

EXCELLENT for a buffet dinner party, a shower or wedding reception. We served this at our wedding reception almost 34 years ago. I have served it many times since, and it always gets rave reviews. The recipe came from a Farm Journal cookbook called Cooking for Company.

    Recipe #85757

Yummy and something just a little different. This recipe was one of Mama's--the origin lost in the mists of time. If I had to make a guess, I'd say Southern Living magazine or cookbook was a good probability.

    Recipe #85419

This is truly heavenly and one of my most requested dishes. This was my beloved Grandmother's dressing recipe. She was one of the world's best cooks. I always triple the recipe, taking a 4 quart dish to the family gathering so there is enough leftover for everyone to take some home, and keeping a 2 quart dish at home for our family.

    Recipe #85415

This is an unusual pecan pie because it uses only brown sugar--no corn syrup. This gives it a wonderful consistentcy, and this is my most requested dessert of all time. I always have to take 2 extras to family gatherings so everyone can take some home. I got the original recipe from my aunt, but I have added the cocoa, more pecans, more eggs, the alcohol and changed other ingredient amounts over the years, so I consider it my creation now.

    Recipe #85413

Tres Bon!! This is a yummy rendition of the standard apple pie. I think it came from a Woman's Day magazine years ago.

    Recipe #85400

This was a winner in a Pillsbury Bake-off back in the 60's. It became one of Mama's favorite desserts to fix for company and Sunday dinner. It is wonderful.

    Recipe #85394

YUMMY. These are soooo good and a little different in that you refrigerate them. They are best made a day ahead and then all the yummy flavors have more time to blend. I have been making these for almost 40 years so I really have no idea where the recipe came from--I think it may have been from a chocolate advertisement for the German chocolate, but I'm not sure. I usually triple or quadruple the recipe.

    Recipe #85067

Dinah Shore was a Southern Belle from Nashville, Tennessee so you know that her Mama's chicken salad is bound to be a high cholesterol item!! But we just don't worry about that in the South, honey!! When you make yor biscuits with lard, a little extra cream ain't nuthin' to fret about!! I don't know whether my Mama got this from a magazine or one of Miss Dinah's cookbooks, but it "shore" is yummy. My Mama ammended the ingredients somewhat to make it more to her taste. I have included the cooking and chopping times in the prep time, but you can be chopping the veg's while the eggs and the chicken are boiling so it really doesn't take that long to prep. The longest "time" is for the chicken to marinate, but believe me this is worth any amount of time!!!!

    Recipe #85065

These were my Mama's best loved bar cookies. Everybody who had them for the first time always wanted the recipe, and the people who had tasted them before always begged for more.

    Recipe #85060

My MIL was a caterer for many years--this is one of her best recipes, and one that all 9 of her grandchildren could not wait to devour!!!

    Recipe #85055

Very tasty--I am always looking for different veggie recipes. This was in a recipe section of the Sunday Parade newspaper supplement several years ago.

    Recipe #85044

This was my Mother's recipe, and DH, who is a beet-hater, likes it very much. It's especially good with ham or pork, and can jazz up an otherwise plain meal

    Recipe #85041

In order to get your Southern Belle license, you have to know how to make cucumber sandwiches!!! These are a staple for bridal and baby showers and ladies' teas. They are very tasty andpretty.

    Recipe #84185

This is my mother-in-law's recipe--a twist on fruitcake. You get a little taste of candied fruit in a yummy brandy pound cake. It is quite delicious.

    Recipe #84176

FABULOUS!! I got this recipe from the wife of a co-worker, and I serve it at every dinner party, shower, holiday party--any type of gathering for family and friends. As soon as I invite someone, they invaribly ask if I'm going to have this chicken ball. It is wonderful.

    Recipe #84175

This is the absolute best stuffing for whatever you want to stuff--my family mainly likes to stuff it into their mouths as fast as possible!!! I use the already cooked shrimp so prep time is minimal. I have made this as just a side dish, we like it so much.

    Recipe #84145

This is for people that you really , really love and/or that you want to really, really love you!!! It is excellent. I have on occasion added about 1/2 cup blue cheese to the stuffing, or used my shrimp and crab stuffing in place of this recipe. Whatever you put into it, it is totally wonderful.

    Recipe #83684

Mama's special omelet is so good, and we have had it for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and supper. Super good and super easy.
