The fried capers add a nice unexpected touch--be sure to save the butter drained from them for another use, such as flavoring vegetables. I dipped some bread in it and that proved quite tasty, too. Watch the tuna closely---the chunks are easy to overcook, in which case they will be dry. -Adapted from License to Grill

Tasty, easy and quick. Great to take along on a picnic or would be a nice addition to a salad buffet. I think this is best served at room temperature. -Adapted from Michael Chiarello of Food Network

The fresh garlic, butter and Provolone make this bread a real test of my self-control--I could make an entire meal out of it. I like to use the sliced cheese, as opposed to shredded, because of the even & full coverage it gives. ;)

An easy, but very indulgent dessert. I found this recipe while looking for desserts to serve at a make-your-own pizza party I was hosting. Yes, it is very rich, but life is short so just loosen your belt and enjoy!

A super-quick, simple, and healthy side dish that can be thrown together at the last minute with ingredients you probably already have in your pantry. I sometimes like to also add a clove of minced garlic. From Cooking Light.

These burgers and the accompanying sauce both have incredible flavor, and this recipe happens to be one of my husband's favorites. I always pan-fry them, though, and have never tried cooking them on the grill because they are pretty wet. I also usually make the patties earlier in the day, put them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover and refrigerate until ready to cook, and this helps them stay together. -adapted from Bon Appetit

This is my favorite pumpkin bread. There is obviously no shortage of pumpkin bread recipes here, as I had to look through a lot of pages to check for a duplicate before posting, but I love the addition of oats in this one. I clipped the recipe from a magazine several years ago and don't have the source, but think it may have been from Libby's.

Great to pack for a picnic; my son also enjoys taking a slice for his lunch at school. For the filling, feel free to substitute your favorites, such as mozzarella or fontina for the cheese and pepperoni, prosciutto or capocollo for the meat. The possibilities are endless, just don't use anything too moist or the bread will become soggy. If you end up short on time, you can certainly ferment the biga for a shorter amount of time. The bread will not have the same flavor depth, but it will still be fantastic. -Adapted from a recipe from King Arthur Flour

Nice, fresh-tasting dish that comes together in a snap. Make it even quicker by preparing the chile lime butter ahead of time. It can be made 1 day ahead, covered and chilled. Just make sure to bring to room temperature before using. I like this served atop jasmine rice. -adapted from Gourmet

Great combination of flavors! If you are short on time, you can put these together very quickly by using jarred roasted red peppers and precooked shrimp. From Bon Appetit.
