My grandpa loves his cereal soft and sweet. I'm not much into granola or cereal but this is delicious! Every time I visit he makes it for me, I'm going to have to start making it for myself at home!

    Recipe #429367

Fresh apple and fiber-filled oats: the perfect way to start the day. The ingredients call for old-fashioned rolled oats, but I usually use 5 grain rolled hot cereal (a mix of barley, oats, whole wheat, rye, & triticale). The brand is Bob's Red Mill, but I'm sure any type of mixed grains can be used. Can easily be doubled and switched with another type of fruit as well.

Wonderful for a weekend brunch. My whole family absolutely loves it. Lots of flavor from the onions, chives, and bell pepper. There are lots of variations of this recipe but I like that this one uses milk instead of sour cream or cream cheese which are high in fat and this one still has just as much flavor. It came from Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove Cookbook that a friend got me for Christmas. I only switch the whole milk to 1 % and keep the skillet at medium-low instead of low when making the sauce. Can easily be doubled to serve more people. When I do, I use a 12 oz package of bacon and a 1 lb 14 oz bag of hash browns since that's what they usually come in anyways. Also, the easiest way to snip the chives is with kitchen scissors. So much faster than with a knife! Enjoy!

    Recipe #406719

I was looking for a beautiful, rich cake to make for Christmas this year and this was exactly what I was looking for! I found this recipe online and it originally came from Bon Appetit. I wanted something chocolate and peppermint to go with the season. It turned out to be the best cake I've ever made! My family wants it to be a tradition for me to make this cake every Christmas from now on. I hope it turns out just as wonderful for you as it did for me! It takes time but it is well worth it. The cooking/preparation time does not include the hours it needs to cool in between.

    Recipe #406595

My grandmother got this recipe from a friend years ago and has been making it frequently ever since. It is my FAVORITE quiche recipe. I'm not a huge fan of crusts since I love the flavors of the quiche itself and feel that the crust just gets in the way. The Bisquick makes its own sort of crust anyways. You can used leftover ham pieces or crumbled bacon. Either way is delicious. Sauteing the onions in a little butter or oil first is key to a good flavor. You could always add other veggies here as well such as bell pepper or mushrooms.

    Recipe #406591

Was looking for a recipe to use the leftover ham from Christmas and came across this recipe in a really old Sunset Casserole Cookbook. It turned out to be delicious. The only change I made was omitting the bell pepper because I didn't have any on hand and adding a little extra celery instead. You could always try the bell pepper if you'd like! I also sprinkled some extra Cheddar cheese on top. I love that this recipe uses real potatoes, milk, & cheese instead of mixes and soups and its still quick and easy to prepare!

This mac & cheese is absolutely delicious! I had never liked mac & cheese, but my mom had me try some of my Aunt Mandy's one night and I fell in love... I had to get the recipe! It's actually pretty simple to make. My aunt spent years trying different ingredients & methods and finally found the perfect way. So here it is!

    Recipe #358135

This melt-in-your-mouth coffeecake is the perfect treat. I've been eating this cake for as long as I can remember. It's a favorite at family get-togethers. It's been passed down from my great-granny who thought it up in her kitchen years ago. Perfect with a cup of coffee or glass of milk. To make sour milk use 1 TBSP vinegar with 1 cup of milk and let stand for 10-15 minutes, or use buttermilk instead.
