My son got interested in table food sooner than I expected and wouldn't let anyone else feed him, so I ended up with a bunch of pea puree in the freezer. I didn't want it to go to waste, so I decided to try it in a soup and it turned out delicious! The amounts are approximate, and you could probably roast whatever vegetables you want. I just used what I had on hand.
This is from my Hebrew school days, but I've made some modifications. It makes 2 large loaves, but it's so good it rarely lasts until Saturday morning. If you don't want to use the wheat flour, just make it with all white flour. And you can leave out the ground flax.
I have modified this recipe over the years and it turns out pretty awesome. My kids (who don't eat anything) love it. I sometimes add 2 tbsp. ground flax seed and that makes it even better. You can also use this recipe to make breadsticks.
