I had this at a friend's party and insisted on the recipe. I've never found another dipping sauce I like this much ! Nice and spicy. BTW, Sriracha Sauce can be found in Asian groceries or the Asian section of most major grocery stores...generally in a clear plastic bottle or jar with a green lid and a rooster on the front.

    Recipe #272386

I was craving the delicious tuna my mom used to make using a product from the 70's & 80's called Tuna Twist. I have no idea what was in it, but just thinking back on how it tasted I chose a few likely ingredients and came up with a light, fresh tasting method for making tuna salad. All measurements are approximate, as i just kinda threw it together. I can't say it tastes exactly like Tuna Twist, but it tastes pretty darned good and isn't full of MSG (which I'm sure Tuna Twist was !) Feel free to substitute as needed to suit your own tastes, but I figured it was best if I posted it exactly as I made it.

    Recipe #365798

This delicious recipe comes from an old Better Homes and Gardens paperback cookbook that I had to buy for a college-level foods class that I took in the early 80's. I never see the recipe anymore in the BH&G cookbooks, so I thought I'd put it here for reference and to share. It always gets rave reviews and requests for the recipe. I usually make it without the sweet pickle, but it's good either way. I also leave the more tender bits of skin on the potatoes instead of peeling as described.

I call this Hail Mary for two reasons. #1, it was during football season and #2, I was making it for a chili competition at work and had never used this particular combination of ingredients was totally an experiment and I was just trusting that it would come together and be good. By gosh, it was ! I won second place out of about 10 entries.

    Recipe #490580

I used to have roommates who were vegetarians and, since I did much of the cooking in the household, I had to learn to adapt my recipes to their dietary requirements. After many tries, I finally came up with a vegetable soup recipe that satisfied their needs but didn't leave me feeling cheated (and hungry !) This recipe uses some fresh ingredients, some canned and some frozen. (BTW, for a non-vegetarian version, you can add salt pork, bacon, hambone or whatever you prefer...but try it veggie ! Trust me, an's great!) BTW, you CAN throw the macaroni in raw and let it cook in the soup rather than throwing cooked macaroni in at the end, but the starch off of the macaroni cooks into the broth and makes it very thick and cloudy, which I don't care for. Another matter of personal preference !
