I was looking for a good chili pie/casserole here on Zaar and couldn't find exactly what I wanted. So, decided to put my own recipe together. This is the result. This pie is VERY mild so feel free to kick it up if you like it spicy. It came together very quickly, despite the long list of ingredients.
We love the shrimp sauce at our local Japanese restaurant and I've worked from several recipes, adding my own tweaks and changes until I have found the right flavor for us. My husband says mine is better than the restaurant. :o)
I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. It's wonderful with shrimp and veggies but also with chicken and steak! Do NOT substitute the Hellman's for some other kind of mayo. It makes a difference in the final product!
My sister gave this recipe to me and it is wonderful. I usually cook a big meal for our family around the holidays and this was the recipe I chose last year. It feeds a crowd and everyone loved it. Throw in a salad and a loaf of garlic bread and you've got a fantastic meal. This is NOT a diet meal! :o)
NEW NOTE: In an effort to get the fat OUT of some of my fav recipes, I made this today with all light ingredients and with whole grain egg noodles. It was fantastic! We didn't miss the fat at all!
I just lost my mom a few weeks ago. I have been thinking about all the things that made her special to us. This fruit salad is one of them. I remember her making this for us and while it is simple to make, it is delicious.
I was looking for a way to cook the okra I'm growing in my garden. I didn't want to deep fry it with breading and my sis-in-law said her granny used to cook it this way. It's excellent! I don't even miss the breading! Try it and let me know if you like it.
This is a nice, classic meatloaf cooked in the crockpot with a packet of golden potatoes cooked right on the top. Just add a veggie and you have a complete, easy meal.
My measurements are approx. because I don't measure anything when I'm cooking.
My husband challenged me to make my own version of tartar sauce. This is the result of his challenge. ;o) The seasoning amounts in the recipe are estimated because I don't measure anything. I think it's especially good with broiled Tilapia. Enjoy!
This dip is soooo good! We always had it when we gathered together to watch the big game! Serve it in your crockpot on the warm setting. Have lots of tortilla chips on hand because I've yet to see a person only eat ONE helping of this dip!! ;-)
