A former hairsylist turned me on to this secret for a cleansing shampoo for color-treated hair. Commercial cleansing shampoos are made to throughly cleanse your hair (ie remove all product build-up), but they also strip color. This homemade version helps to prevent stripping of color, but also throughly cleanses your hair. It is also much cheaper and can be made with products already in your home. I love it and use it once per week!

    Recipe #85686

This is a combination appetizer that I serve based on a few different appetizers that I have seen offered in resturants. Your guests must love garlic, of course, but it is a rich, elegant appetizer that is sure to impress. I even occasionally make it for myself for dinner!

    Recipe #85163

I feel silly even posting this as a recipe because it is so simple. However, when I discovered this low-fat, healthy, sweet-satisfying treat, I just had to share it! It's also a great snack for kids and is a wonderful breakfast or dessert. Feel free to add more or less cinnamon and Splenda to your taste. Simple - yet delicious!

    Recipe #110981

I love sauteed spinach with garlic, and one day I got creative and threw in some shredded cheddar cheese (Tilamook is the best). Yum! Yum! What a delightful treat my surprise turned out to be! :-) This may even appeal to non-spinach lovers because of the wonderful cheesy taste it brings. Please note that, when you first start to saute the spinach leaves, it will appear to be too much spinach, but once it begins to wilt, it becomes a much smaller quanity. Best of all, this dish literally takes about 5 minutes to throw together!

    Recipe #103556

This vinaigrette makes a great salad dressing or dressing for green beans. It is based on a recipe from Suzanne Somers' cookbook. I absolutley love it and make it often. It should be made fresh each time you want to add it to a salad or green beans. Garlic is also very good for you!

    Recipe #85190

My fabulous stepmother, Jan, has made this salad dressing for years, and everyone she serves it to just loves, loves loves it! She can't serve this, without almost everyone at the table begging her for the recipe; thus, the name I blessed the recipe with! :-) This is a bit of a sweet dressing, so it goes particularly well in a green salad, with a sliced fruit (like strawberries). Try a salad of mixed greens, feta cheese, sliced strawberries, and walnuts or pecans, as this makes a beautiful and delicious salad! I have also used it on a number of other types of salads, as well, and it works beautifully with most combinations! The recipe calls for vegetable oil, only because it keeps better in the fridge (when you make a generous amount to keep on hand all through the week, which I highly recommend), but you can also make it with olive oil, or an oil of your choice. I use almost no other salad dressing now! Thank you, Jan, for a real gem!

    Recipe #192863

If you have never made a salad with goat cheese, you are missing a delightful treat! This salad is based on a pre-made salad that I have bought from Trader Joe's. It is fabulous, and so easy to make!

    Recipe #91772

This is a simple and quick low carb meal that can be prepared in minutes! Is is so simple that it really isn't much of a recipe; however, it is a great idea for a low carb substitute for regular French Onion Soup, which is usually made with bread. Feel free to substitute the listed cheeses for Parmesan Cheese, which is a lower-fat cheese, or to substitute a handful of regular sliced mushrooms for the Portobello Mushroom Slice. Please note that this recipe, as written, serves one, but it can easily be adapted to serve as many as you want.

    Recipe #104081

This is a tasty and very healthy main-dish salad that is perfect for a summer evening meal, or anytime, really. I love it because it is so quick and easy to whip together, is a great way to use tuna, and can be eaten guilt-free because it is so healthy. I nabbed this recipe from the Chef Mom website. Enjoy!

    Recipe #114904

This recipe is yummy, rich, fattening, and, so easy, you won't believe it. Mmmm-good! Please note that the prep/cook time does not include the chill time.

    Recipe #85539

This is the easiest, most simple way that I make garlic green beans. There are recipes that I sometimes use that are a bit more fancy, but, for garlic green beans that are a breeze to make, I like these!

    Recipe #128618

Something different for breakfast - quick, easy, and delicious! I often make this with spicy mustard, pepper jack cheese, green chilies, and sliced onion, but I like spicy! Use your creativity and build the breakfast sandwich of your dreams (the possibilities are endless)! :-)

    Recipe #151638

Mmmmm! These Frangos will melt in your mouth! They are so easy to make and also make great gifts. After cutting the Frangos into small pieces, I individually wrap each piece in pretty cellophane paper, and then place all pieces in either a cool coffee mug, a pretty box, or a lovely bag. I then take a colorful recipe card and write out the recipe to include with the gift because people always ask me for it once they have tasted these! Please note that the prep time does not include chill time.

    Recipe #85538

I love this curry chicken salad! I make up a batch on Sunday and take it to work for lunch on both Monday and Tuesday. The curry dressing is just right, with a perfect bite to it! A unique way to dress up chicken salad!

    Recipe #85536

I love this Spinach Salad! It is easy to make and delicious! From a cookbook called "Six Ingredients or Less." You can leave out the ham and the cheddar cheese, if your prefer, for a lighter version!

    Recipe #89899

This is junk-food at its best - quick, inexpensive, filling, hearty, and fun! :-) It's also super easy to whip up and very kid and family-friendly! Great for dinner, lunch, potlucks, or sports-watching parties! A little secret: I almost always make this with chili from Wendy's -- it makes for an extra yummy treat!

    Recipe #191516

My husband and I love blue cheese dressing and I modeled this salad on a Blue Cheese and Tomato Salad that we were once served in a resturant. We love it! You can also use bottled Chunky Blue Cheese Salad Dressing, but this homemade dressing is better!

    Recipe #85169

This is my husband's favorite salad! It is very elegant - perfect for a dinner party or even a candlelight dinner for two! I recommend using only half of the salad dresssing, and saving the rest for later.

    Recipe #85171

A unique way to serve peas! Fast, easy, and oh-so-yummy - a great dish to serve at dinner anytime, at potlucks, or at holiday dinners!

    Recipe #83159

I am always on the lookout for lower carb lunches that can be carried on the go, as I find to-go lunches (lunches that I can take to work) to be one of the greatest creative challanges of lower-carb eating. I discovered this recipe, and usually take it for lunch at least once per week. It is simple, yet delicious, and I find that it satisfies my sandwich cravings (especially with the diced dill pickle). It keeps well in the fridge for a day or two. Thought that I would share! :-)
