Tart, sweet, and crunchy on top. You can use frozen fruit as well; just thaw and drain.

    Recipe #517215

No butter, no mayo, all flavor. Tastes even better the next day.

    Recipe #517060

This is a lightened-up version for those of us trying to cut the butter and cream. But it's delicious and creamy and tastes very decadent. It also has a little kick from the pepper jack.

    Recipe #516942

This recipe uses quinoa instead of the traditional cracked wheat, and it has a lighter texture which I like. It also uses less olive oil than other tabouli recipes.

    Recipe #516924

This is the most delicious salad; I just had to figure out how to make it! Light and refreshing, and you could add sliced chicken or flaked salmon for some protein.

    Recipe #515012

    Recipe #514725

This is for a 1 lb. loaf if you have a Zojirushi or other smaller bread machine.

    Recipe #514724

Supposedly from Ma Maison restaurant - I can't verify that, as I just have a copy of this recipe scribbled on a piece of paper a friend gave me 20 years ago. But it's our favorite.

    Recipe #513714

I didn't use to like hummus but then I tried this recipe and tweaked it over time. Now it's perfect. Enough said. Don't skip roasting the garlic or you will be sleeping alone tonight! I make my own tahini by blending sesame seeds and a little olive oil in the food processor forever, then keeping it in a jar in the fridge. Also, I buy a whole bag of peeled garlic cloves from Costco, roast them in the oven (sprayed with a little oil) for about 15 minutes until golden brown, and then put the whole batch in the freezer. Then anytime I want to make hummus I just put the frozen cloves in the food processor and voila.

    Recipe #513687

This was an experiment gone "right" - I had only a single pie crust and some cream cheese to use up. It was a keeper! You can use fresh or frozen fruit.

    Recipe #513614

This cake (sans frosting) has no butter and no eggs in it--great for when you are raiding the pantry. (The frosting, however, is a different story, but soooo good!) Although the prep time is short, you'll want to have time to let the boiled raisins cool a bit.

    Recipe #505442

I threw this together for lunch one day and we liked it so much we had it again for dinner. Very light and flavorful. If you don't have the fire oil, you can use red pepper flakes or chili paste for a little heat.

    Recipe #500751

A refreshing summer meal and great for an outdoor party as it has no mayonnaise. Found this in a magazine about twenty years ago and it has been a family favorite ever since. My daughter doesn't like fresh tomatoes so I have substituted diced red bell pepper and that was delicious too. We use frozen salmon filets from Costco.

    Recipe #500498

Refreshing with a middle eastern meal.

    Recipe #500497

If you don't have tomatillos on hand, use 2 tbsp. green chile salsa. Any kind of store-bought or homemade vinaigrette dressing will do.

    Recipe #500496

Not sure how close it is because I've never had the original, but it's delicious. If I don't have tomatillos on hand, I use a couple tablespoons of green chile salsa.

    Recipe #500495

A kicky alternative to the usual potatoes.

    Recipe #500494

We served this at my daughter's wedding and it was a perfect starter for an outdoor August meal. Simple and delicious.

    Recipe #500493

Adapted from a recipe on allrecipes.com. Delicious.

    Recipe #500472

This soup tastes decadent but has very little fat compared to most cream soups. You can substitute some or all of the broccoli with cauliflower as well. Great with some crusty bread on a cold day.
