"I omitted the peanuts. I may reduce the sugar next time as they are a bit too sweet for my taste. These cookies are so yummy with the oatmeal and the orange zest. Thanks ellie :) Made for PRMR tag game"
"Excellent cookie, I have to agree with Veggie Swap that the zest makes this cookie. I didn't add the chopped peanuts, but don't think they were missed. A nice change from the "usual," choc. cookies. My DH also really liked them!!"
"No peanuts here because DH doesn't like nuts in anything but he rated them with 10 stars. I used whole wheat flour and my dough was really soft which surprised me a lot. I was expecting just the opposite, lol. Anyway, they were way too soft to mark and they needed all of the 3 in surrounding space. 10 mins baking on a silicone mat gave me perfect cookies with a light golden edge. I have a feeling that these will be requested again."
"Great cookies!!! The orange zest makes a really unexpected and delicious addition... I did wonder if a drizzle of dark chocolate on top would be good. :D Next time I'll only use 1 cup peanuts, as I had about 1/3 cup left in the bowl that didn't mix in easily. YUM! Made for Veg*n Swap 12."
"These are REALLY GOOD cookies. I had to put them in a covered container so they were out of sight! I made them for my kids for after school, but of course I tried one warm and then another one after they cooled. They are good both ways. I used chunky peanut butter and did not add nuts, but I think I'd like walnuts in them. You can taste a touch of orange and just a little of the peanut butter; the whole combination works great together. These come out very large and they are somewhat lacy, as the other reviewer mentioned. Be sure to allow the 3 inches between cookies! Thanks for posting this treat! "
"Okay, I made these cookies yesterday. They taste really good, like a combo of sugar, peanut butter, and oatmeal cookies with a hint of orange. I didn't have chunky peanut butter, so I just used smooth. I left out the peanuts since I only had walnuts. The cookies are very big and somewhat lace-y looking, but tender and crunchy at the same time. I will be keeping this recipe for future use. (Check your directions, Ellie. You forgot the vanilla!) Very good cookies!"
