"There are a lot of chicken casseroles out there but this is the best I've ever had. My kids love it too. Freezes well (let thaw and then bake) and works well for a covered dish meal. I like to serve it with cranberry sauce on the side. And as a reviewer suggested, I have heard of people adding chilies to this recipe. I usually broil my chicken. The results are much tenderer than boiling it. Thigh meat can also be used if you prefer."

"Marg, I highly recommend this recipe to everyone! It is definitely a comfort food that has flavor galore! The only change that I made was to use only 2 ounces (1/4 cup) of sour cream. This was for personal preference in that I wanted more of the cream of chicken soup flavor to be dominant. We will have it again for sure! Prepared as a participant in the January 2008 Comfort Food Event in the Recipezaar Photo Forum."
"Marg, this was an awesome casserole. The taste was similar to a casserole I make with ritz crackers only more calories. Will definitely be making this one from now on. Thanks"
"Recipe#47285 is our favorite chicken and stuffing casserole, but this is definitely a close second - very flavorful and easier to prepare than mine. I will be making it again although next time I think I'll make sure the bottom layer of stuffing is moist - maybe use some broth - because it was a bit too crunchy for me - although my family thought it was just fine. Thanks!"
"Good, and a little different from the typical casserole. Made 1 1/2 recipe using recipe #360192, plain yogurt, and organic herb stuffing cubes. Thanks for sharing the recipe!"
"Delicious comfort food. I used Stove-top chicken stuffing mix. I also melted an additional tablespoon of butter and poured it over the top stuffing before it went in the oven."
"This was great! A few months ago, I tried a WHOLE BUNCH of freezer recipes. I had grown tired of the noodly ones. This was my kids' favorite! It froze perfectly!! When cooking, I covered with foil until the very last 10 min -- I then turned up the heat (about 400) to make it nice and crispy on top. I like to serve it simply with green salad."
"My husband and I and our 3 kids all LOVED this! I sauteed the chicken with olive oil and garlic and my stuffing mix was a bit crushed but it worked out good. It mixed really well with the butter and it made it so that there were not all these big chunks so that it wasn't too crunchy. It was delicious! Will definitely make again. Awesome combo with the cranberry sauce!"
"This was really good, but a little salty, so next time I will use the reduced sodium soup!"
"The family liked this, but a bit bland as written."
"comfort food at its best without a lot of work....definitely a keeper"
"This is the moistest chicken casserole I have ever prepared. Thanks for posting one I will be preparing often."
"Delicious! I made this, froze it, and it was wonderful. Thank you, Marg!"
"Easy recipe to prepare - I pan-fried the chicken and used Pepperidge Farm cornbread stuffing and served over rice; also, had the cranberry sauce like one of the other reviews - mighty tasty!"
"My family loved this! The crunchy breadcrumbs were the best (not stovetop). I subbed the soup with cream of broccoli because that's what I had, and served this over steamed veggies. I bet it would be good over a baked potato as well -- with melted cheese... mmmmm! Next time for sure!!"
"My family really enjoyed this chicken casserole. The middle layer is very creamy & the topping has a nice crunch. As it turns out, 2 1/2 cups of stuffing mix is about 2/3 of the package. I think next time I will use the whole package, mixing up about 2/3's according to the package directions for the bottom layer & mixing the remainder with melted butter as directed for the topping. As Marg said, this pairs nicely with cranberry sauce."
"This is a really good recipe. I used some smoked chicken I had left over from another meal, and it was great. Made exactly as directed. Had to adjust the cooking time a little...but that was probably just an oven difference. Thanks for the great recipe. I will be using it again. I am thinking about maybe adding a small can of green chilis, becuase we love that kind of stuff. What do you think?"
