"A different side dish to go with your Asian meal. These potatoes are spiced with wasabi horseradish. And yes, you will definitely be able to taste it, so you may want to add the wasabi little by little to your taste."
Serving Size: 1 (350 g)
Servings Per Recipe: 2
"The addition of the wasabi to these mashed potatoes was really great and deliciously different. For dietary reasons I cut back on the salt, used Smart Balance spread instead of butter and skim milk, all with good success. Thank you Kelly M. for sharing the recipe."
"Great with our tuna. I couldn't find my powder so used paste from a tube. Powder would be much better. Loved the sauce from the tuna over the potatoes."
"Delicious! Never would have thought to add wasabi to mashed potatoes - it's a hit! My husband and I loved them! I didn't even serve them with an Asian meal :) We had roasted chicken and steamed broccoli :) Thanks for sharing!"
"these are awesome - i used skim milk, but had to use about 1/4 cup or more to make them mash to a really thick texture (so maybe my potatoes were bigger than medium). I'll be keeping this recipe for future use for sure"
"A+ for easy, tasty, and different. I used red potatotes and did not peel them. I wish the recipe would have a more specific potato quantity, as "medium potato" can mean different things to different people. I used low fat half and half. Served alongside Recipe #63930."
"These were so yummy!! I followed your recipe exactly except that I had the wasabi paste, so I just skipped the water. The amounts were perfect, added a tad extra cream. I made this to go with Recipe #9773, a great combo that we will do again for sure! Thanks!"
"This was sooooo yummy with a little kick!"
"These were pretty good! Next time I will pull out some for the kids and then add more wasabi for me! Thanks for sharing!"
"Yummmm! I'd never have thought of doing this but it works and it's great! I couldn't find wasabi poweder so used the pre made paste, still delicious though. These were so creamy and good with just that slight kick that made them extra special; like Jan I did need more salt in mine. I'll definately keep this in mind as a different side dish for Asian food - thanks for posting!"
"I was looking through my cookbook and realized I hadn't reviewed this yet, even though I made it a couple months ago! I love wasabi and this is really good, very similar to the side dish served at our local Japanese restaurant. I have made this a couple of times and it is going on my menu anytime I serve an asian dish. Thanks!!"
"This has a great taste and the family loved it! Thanks Kelly for coming up with a new twist to the same ol' mashed potatoes."
"We enjoyed this thanks Kelly. It went really well with our Gingery Maple Glazed Chicken recipe #69484 and made a good change from rice (which we eat quite a lot of). Next time I will snip some garlic chives through it, and I found it needed more salt (probably a personal preference) to highlight the wasabi flavour-I used the full tablespoon and found that to be just right."
"Just made this today, LOVE it! I went very carefully with the wasabi at 1st but since I love the stuff I added a dab more. I'll be making this again."
