"Waaaay too sweet. I prefer the recipe on the back of the Chex box which has half as much butter, half as much sugar, and like a third of the powdered sugar. Not only is it healthier, but it also tastes better (you can taste the peanut butter and the cereal stays crunchier."
"I make this with rice & wheat Chex and Kellogg's Cracklin' Oat Bran cereals using the same amount of chocolate, PB, & slightly less powdered sugar. I've found that adding the bran cereal gives it a real puppy chow look and absorbs up some of the other ingredients. I tend to stir mine after coating it lightly w/ the powdered sugar because I like it to have the more brown look of real puppy chow. I purchased a large dog bowl in which I serve it at parties w/ a little stuffed dog beside it tagged with the name of it & the ingredients. It's gotten a lot of repeat requests so it's become a winter & tail gate party staple. I've also added some nuts a few times & that's okay, but it doesn't add anything you really need."

"I used a 12 oz box of Crispix, 1/2 cup peanut butter, and 2 cups chocolate chips (that's a 12 oz bag). And 2 cups powdered sugar. I melted the peanut butter, butter and choc chips in the microwave in a 4 cup Pyrex glass measuring cup. I poured this over the Crispix in a big bowl. I mixed it all with my hands! Then I put the sugar in and mixed it some more with my hands."

"One of the first things I learned to make as a burgeoning cook when I was little! I still love these as the perfect nibble comfort food. I almost always add a little vanilla extract before I mix the chocolate mixture in, but otherwise the recipe is a dead on of what I make. The easiest way is to layer chex, then chocolate, chex, chocolate, etc, then mix. It just assures less mixing, and less breaking of chex. Wonderful and Tasty!!"
