"I'm so picky about clean, streak-free windows and mirrors, and this stuff is great. With the ammonia and rubbing alcohol, this has disinfectant properties. I have spray bottles of this in each bathroom, great for a spritz and wipe of the sink and toilet each morning. I also have my toilet brush sitting in a crock with this for a quick swish."

"I have been using this for a couple of days now. Tried it warm when it first was made and then the next day when the water was cool. It seems to be effective in all the areas I have tried it. It removed butter splatters from inside my microwave, left my silver stove top clean, and shined up the mirrors that I used it on. I cut the recipe in fourth, as I only had one spray bottle and no place to store the larger amount. I used lemon scented ammonia and apple scented dish detergent, the smell came out pleasant and mild - which pleased me as I do not care for the smell of ammonia. Thank you for sharing!"
"This is the best all-purpose cleaner ever! It is a cinch to make and lasts FOREVER! No streaks on any surfaces. No toxic chemicals. No obnoxious odors. Thank you, thank you, thank you."
"Great all-purpose cleaner and cheap to make too. Better than a well-known brand . I've used it on mirrors, counters, and stainless steel on my range and refrig. It doesn't have an offensive odor once it's mixed up. I will definitely continue to use this."
"I had a cleaning business and this recipe saved me thousands of dollars. When you are cleaning a house you can go through 2 bottles of cleaner and that is over $6.00. This is .25. What a savings!!!!"
"Cost me $2.00 for a gallon of lemon amonia, .99 for 16 oz rubbing alcohol and what, .01 for the dish soap.. I divided this up to fill one container, so I made it into thirds.. In a word, W O W ..... these ingredients will make dozens of bottles for under $3.00.. no streaking, easy cleaning WOW.. now, I"m really getting into going green......and, passing it on! THANKS"
"This is the best all purpose cleaner. I make it up in bulk and use it all over the house. I have given it away to family and friends and everyone raves about it. Rubbing alcohol is not readily available to me so I substitute methylated spirits and it works a treat! Absolutely love this and will make it again and again."
"I wish I could give this 20 stars. I love this, thanks so much for posting if Connie K. I've used it from cleaning windows to cleaning the bathroom to getting up doggie accidents. It's wonderful...I love it!"
"I am loving this stuff. I don't like spending money on commercial cleaners, and this stuff is so cheap to make--and it works better than anything else I've come across. I've had a lot of success using this in the bathroom as well as my kitchen counters and stovetop. I also like to use it to clean our tile floors. I'm not a good mopper, so it's nice to just be able to spray and wipe up a few tiles every day. Gets the goop up really well. I used lemon ammonia, as suggested in some of the reviews, and I'm really liking that. Thanks for this cleaner recipe!! It's really a lifesaver for me."
"Before I made this I went to home depot and priced a gallon of all purpose cleaner - over $9.00. I bought the rubbing alcohol and actually found some that was orange scented, and the ammonia. This gallon of homemade cleaner cost about $1.50. Very pleased with that. I then cleaned everything with it. My kitchen and bathroom floors, countertops, and mirrors. Worked good enough for me that I can say I will never again buy commercially made cleaner. Thanks for posting!"
"No streaks!!! This works better on glass than those brands that claim they are "streak-free!" I only made 1/2 the recipe just to try it. I use hot water and ammonia on my kitchen floor already, so I don't mind the slight ammonia odor. I used it on my large bathroom mirrors to test it out. At first, it may look like there will be streaks (probably from that tiny bit of liqiud soap), but when it dries completely, there is an unbeatable streak-free shine. I then went around and shined every mirror, TV screen, glass door/surface and faucet in the house! On to the windows tomorrow.... gotta make some more. Thanx so much for this great tip!"
"I love this! Connie, thanks you saved me so much money! This was so great, worked well, and I don't have to run to the store. I had no problem with streaking, and it cleaned everything in my bathroom. Ah, I felt like a Queen! Thanks so much!"
"Just tried this on all kitchen surfaces...Avanza countertops, appliances and my stainless fridge. It worked as well as, if not better than, commercial cleaners I've tried. I did have to follow up on the fridge with a dry Bounty paper towel to keep it from streaking. I have to do this even with specialty stainless cleaners as well. Made a 1/4 recipe in a spray bottle. The strong odor of alcohol plus ammonia was really not evident once mixed with water. I didn't notice it at all when cleaning. Thanks, Connie, for a great idea!"
"This stuff works great on everthing I've tried it on so far."
"So far, I have used this on countertops, tile, and grease residue on a blind in my kitchen. This cleaner is fabulous! It made the tile on the wall behind my bathroom sinks shine, and removed the greasy residue from the blind in the kitchen. It quickly dissolved greasy soap spots on the bathroom countertops- (My dh is a machinist-'nuff said.) Mine did not smell very good because I used plain ole ammonia that I've had for years. I'm happy to finally find a way to use it. The smell evaporates quickly, so it's really not a big deal. I will definitely be making more of this!"
"Tried it, Love it... Making some MORE!!!!!"
"This cleaner is fantastic!!!!!! I make it in a empty laundry soap container and then transfer some to smaller bottles. I use it for every thing but wood. It's wonderful on Ceramic tile floors. Good job Connie--Thanks for posting."
"This worked pretty good but there was to much."
"Very good cleaner. Used it to clean my bathroom and it worked very well. Just as well, or better than the stuff you buy from a store. I even used it for the bathroom floor. I just sprayed it accross the floor and used a damp sponge mop to clean with. It worked better than the other cleaners I've been using. Thanks for posting this."
"I started my louvered windowns with a commercial product, but ran out part way through the job. I mixed this up & tried it out. It does work, but I didn't think quite as well as the commercial stuff. Since I was changing products in the middle of a job, it was pretty easy to compare. The recipe version required a second application & I had to work a bit harder to avoid streaking. Still, it did work on my very dirty windows & it is much less expensive than the commercial product."
"Very pleased with this!!! Works better than boughten cleaners. Easy to make also. I'll never buy another all purpose cleaner again, thanks so much!!!"
