"I found this recipe in a magazine a long time ago (can't recall the name). It's very simple and absolutely delicious, especially when served warm with vanilla ice cream. I added a streusel topping for the "cobbler effect" which may be omitted, if you wish. My friends and family loved it. I hope you do, too!"

"I loved this apple cake. So delicious! I did add some cinnamon to the batter and also to the crumb topping. The best apple cake I have made so far. It disappeared quickly. So...so... Good!"
"We really liked this recipe. The cake was nice and moist. The vanilla sauce really made the recipe. My vanilla sauce was clear, though, unlike the picture. I liked the streusel as well. In the future, I will probably try adding some cinnamon and maybe some nutmeg to the apples. Thanks for the excellent recipe."
"Just GREAT . . . omitted the vanilla sauce . . . thanks !"
"How neat - a cake that looks like a pie! This was very pretty, and absolutely delicious! To the chopped apple, I added 1/2 teaspoon each of cinnamon and ginger. The streusel made a good cake even better, so I'm glad I didn't omit it. I found I only needed half of the streusel topping to cover the cake, though. I didn't have ice cream in the house, so I decorated the cake with whipped cream and cinnamon. I liked the vanilla sauce, but the cake would still be equally tasty without it. This is a keeper! "
"Yummy and quick and easy. Loved the streusel topping. I sprinkled some cinnamon with sugar on the apples. Just used vanilla sauce for the cake. Thank-you Sara I will be putting this in my book. Also loved the idea of it in a pie plate."
