"I came up with this recipe when I had an abundance of fresh green beans. After canning 30 quarts, I knew I needed to find something else to do with all those beans! It's easy to prepare and one of my family's "comfort food" favorites."

"I have made these for many years and they are fabulous! I love the way they smell while they are cooking. This a great Southern dish! Thanks for sharing."
"The ham, garlic and onion flavors married well with the fresh green beans. I had not tried to use my crockpot to cook vegies before, and was pleasantly surprised at how this dish turned out. Beans were tender and not mushy. "
"The flavor was good, but it took more like 7 hours on HIGH for them to thoroughly cook."
"This is a wonderful recipe! I had never thought of making green beans in the crockpot, but I will do it this way often from now on. I cut up some canadian bacon instead of the ham hock and the beans were tender and flavorful. Thanks for the great inspiration."
