"My husband loves yellow eyed beans. He believes that they make the best baked beans...I think he's right. You can substitute with your favourite bean...enjoy with warm oatmeal brown bread or fresh challah and sweet butter."

"wow.. all I can say is these were DELICIOUS.... Everyone loved these, told me they were better then then grandmothers... I made this recipe exactly as directed except I put them in crock pot and left for the day.. They had a lot of liquid (delcious) soo next time I will use 3 cups less liquid.. soooo goooood Thank you"
"I used small white beans (navy) for this and some ham that was sliced thin like bacon. Everything else was by the recipe. The guys chose to make a meal of just the beans because " It has ham in it and beans are vegetables" so the 1/2 recipe I made fed 2 men for dinner. They both gave it 5 stars and cleaned their bowls. There was still a fair amount of liquid at the end of the 8 hrs but that was because I added some with 2 hrs cooking time to go to be sure that they didn't get too dry. It would have been less if I had removed the lid for the last 30 mins or so I'm sure. Made for Photo Tag."
"Great beans! I used pink beans and turkey bacon. The only issue I had was that they were still very soupy at the end of cook time. But still so tasty that I didn't care! A great dinner with homemade applesauce and cornbread pancakes."
"These beans were awesome! I love maple syrup in bean recipes, didn't change a thing, we loved this! thanks BK!...Kitten:)"
"Awesome! A lot like Grammy's but a smidge sweeter thanks to the maple syrup. DON'T anyone use maple FLAVORED products of any kind - use REAL maple syrup. Using bacon instead of fat pork was different - not better or worse, just different. These were delicious. Thank you!"
