"Really Awesome. I found it was not necessary to put the potatoes in a plastic zip bag. Mixing them in a bowl did a good job too. I spit the brown sugar mixture with splenda.I also added 1/2 tsp of cinnamon to the mixture and it was fabu!"
"These are amazing. They were a huge hit at Easter dinner & I just cut the potatoes into strips/fries and grilled them on tinfoil on the grill outside & they were amazing!"
"These were really good. The brown sugar overpowered the other spices, so next time I may add more of the others. Just the right amount of butter, if not too much. Thanks!"
"Kittencal...you rock! I've decided to skip researching the whole site and just search within your recipes. If you aren't a professional chef...then I believe you may have missed your calling:) Thank you so much for the inspiring recipes! Your recipes make me feel like I'm home even all the way over in Japan. Arigato gozaimus!:)"
"Loved it and was one of the crowd favorites at Thanksgiving. I used canola oil and not butter and 1 tsp chili powder, and tossed it in a large bowl instead of a baggie. It was nicely spicy but not too hot, and helped cut through the richness of the other foods. Plus it was simple to make, which is a plus in the midst of everything else. Will keep it in rotation for other evenings too!"
"Followed the recipe exactly for our Thanksgiving sweet potato dish and it was A HIT! Even hard core anti-sweet potato ppl were gobbling these up! Thanks!"
"Very good. A keeper."
"A wonderful way to give the sweet potatoes a new twist. Even the people who said "I never have liked sweet potatoes" said these were great!
Was easy to prepare hours before dinner, just had to shove then in the oven at the right time to have them be done with everything else!"
"Very nice! I like that it cooks rather quickly. I added some cumin and ground coriander, too. Definitely a "make-again"!"
"I still had some sweet potatoes from our garden downstairs and found your recipe to try. I loved the sweet and spicy flavor. What a great combo for the sweet potatoes. Even my 4 year old nephew loved it. I did use the least amount of cayenne (cuz of the young ones) but followed the recipe. Thankyou for sharing with us."
"Delicious. I tend to like sweeter with a little bit of heat, so I reduced the spicy ingredients a smidge. I baked for 25 minutes, which was two or three minutes too long, but the potatoes were still so good. I served these tossed with steamed cauliflower as a colorful and nutritious side dish. Thank you!"
"This is simply an awesome recipe. Even fussy hubby liked it. I was really skeptical about the combination of chili powder with the other sweet spices and sugar, but that's what made it so special. Thank you for posting."
"I loved this! Hubby didn't but who cares? I will be making this often!"
"Delicious! I made them for Easter dinner and they were great with ham. Everyone loved them. Just a quick note- don't ignore the part about spreading them in a SINGLE LAYER in the oven (like I did) or your cooking time will increase dramatically!"
"I made this recipe for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it! I ate the leftovers for lunch at work and they were still great. I will be making this again for sure! Thanks for the recipe!"
"This was great. I left out the cayenne as I don't like heat, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. The savory seasons blend great with the sweetness of the brown sugar. Served with pork tenderloin and it was a perfect match. Thanks for the great recipe. I will definitely make again."
"This recipe was excellent the day I made it but terrible as leftovers. It might have been the fact that I used oil instead of butter or it might have been the oil I used, which was soybean. Other than that, the seasonings were great and it was delicious!"
"I made this dish this after noon and it was fantastic. I've recently discovered that sweet potatoes are so much better than regular potatoes and I'm constantly looking for new recipes. This one will definitely be a regular in my house. The only mistake I made was that I served it with another spicy dish, it was hard at first to tell the difference. Thank you so much for sharing."
"Another awesome recipe! This was so delicious even my not-too-crazy-about-sweet-potatoes teenage DS liked them. They cooked up so fast and delicious. The seasonings were perfect. I think I might even increase all the seasonings a bit next time. Thanks for another hit!"
"This was my sweet potato recipe choice for Thanksgiving this year- and it was great. I was able to double the recipe with ease, and I just upped the baking time. I also used only cayenne, and lots of it--- it was perfect for us! Thank you for sharing!"
