"I used to love these when I was younger, I could eat two in one sitting! I haven't had fast food in a year or two, but these taste like I remember Taco Bell's quesadillas tasting. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do."
Serving Size: 1 (117 g)
Servings Per Recipe: 4
"I loved these and the flavor was great. Enjoyed the jalapeno bite it had. My boys' are young and thought it was too spicy so may scale down a little for them."
"Fantastic recipe! I made 8 servings, but took the advice of other reviewers that it was a little too spicy, so I only used the amount of jalapeños and cayenne for the 4 serving size, and it came out DELICIOUS! My entire family loved it.. including my 6 year old! Will definitely make again.. and definitely pass it on. Thank you!"
"THis ones a keeper! It was way better than Taco bells and so simple to make! My kids asked for more even though it was way to spicy for them! Next time i will add barely any jelapenos. Thanks for sharing this amazing recipe!"
"THat's funny how everyone was calling it too spicy, I didn't think so at all! People need to learn some tolerance, haha. Great recipe!"
"This sauce is fantastic!! Taste identical to Taco Bell's!!"
"This recipe rocked!!!"
"The jalapeno sauce tastes very much like Taco Bell's sauce if Taco Bell's wasn't processed and probably full of about 1,000 chemicals. Very fresh and delicious! The quesadillas were yummy, even though I didn't have any American cheese and just made them with the cheddar & pepper jack. I used the cooked-then-frozen chicken breast cubes from Tyson (just heated & shredded), and it was a really good & super fast dinner!"
"Let me say that the kids HATED the mayo mixture before I added to the dish. HOWEVER, I decided to make it anyway. Let me say that nothing was left! The only change I made was to add a bit of olive oil to pan to warm shells and didn't add jalapeno since I was out and thought it'd be too hot for the kids anyway. Since my kids(9,5,2) are finicky, I added a thin layer of mayo mixture to theirs. As for me, I added etra mixture since that is what makes this dish stand apart. Don't know how close this is to the TB version but delicious nonetheless. Thanks for sharing!"
"My son loves Taco Bell quesadillas! These are so close to the original, mainly because of the sauce. I made the sauce exact to the recipe. I think for those who do not like too much heat, just cut back on the Cayenne pepper. I loved the sauce as written, but for those with little ones, that is the spice that seemed most pronounced to me. Sooo easy to make! Yum!"
"I made this for my adult son for Christmas. This is his favorite taco bell food. He loved it and was thrilled that I found the recipe for him. Thank you."
"OHHHHHH how good it was... I didn't need to know how to make the quesadillas but the sauce... OHHHH The sauce is what makes it killer!
How I did it:
Don't half azz these, Get FRESH UNFROZEN chicken breasts, add your own spices to step it up a notch and slice that bad boy nice. slap a tortilla down on a warm to hot flat top grill, add your cheese, chicken and sauce (in that order, add a sprinkle of cheese over the sauce if your feeling venturous) Then slap another tortilla on that, place a 10-12" frying pan on top of that (depending on the size of the tortilla). Once done serve to your friends and blow there minds."
"My husband LOVED this recipe, exactly as is. However, I would have gone with a bit less cumin & a dash less sugar. The cumin taste was a bit overpowering, and the sugar made the sauce a little too sweet. I can definitely tell that this is reminiscent of Taco Bell's quesadilla sauce, but I have a feeling that if the above adjustments were made, it would be just like it, but better. The fresh ingredients make a huge difference. I'm rating it 3 stars because, as it's written, it's not my favorite, but I think it has a lot of potential."
"LOVE LOVE LOVE! I'm going to make them again after I leave this review. I don't use the cheeses listed, but use the Fiesta Mexican blend shredded. Like someone else commented, we didn't like the mixture before it was added to the cheese, chicken, and tortilla. That quickly changed, though. Everyone in the house LOVES this recipe, even my 3 year old and she is quite picky. I am going to add a bit more jalapeno this time around, though. Bout time I got some use out of the Quesadilla Maker I received as a gift a couple of years ago:)"
"They're alright but the title is misleading as they taste absolutely nothing like Taco Bell's chicken quesadillas."
"very good, I used ground beef sautéed with taco seasoning, and it turned out great."
"Even with the low-fat adjustments I made, including low-fat soybean based mayo, low-fat cheeses and a chicken substitute (we are vegetarians), this was very filling. Nevertheless we each ate a whole one and my BF and I both thought the taste was great. I only used a pinch of cayenne but thought it could have used a bit more. I'd make this again. An easy weeknight supper with a side of veggies or a salad."
"This recipe was created by Todd Wilbur for his book entitled "The Best Of Top Secret Recipes" (Penguin/Putnam 2003)"
"Family loved this recipe! I have never had a Taco Bell quesadilla so I can't compare it to that, but it was cheesy and delicious. We made them to suit individual tastes; one as written, one with just cheese, one with black beans. Thanks!"
"The family loved this recipe! I do wish i had made the sauce ahead of time to allow the flavors to settle but we found this all in all to be way better than Taco Bells item. Very easy to customize with adding other ingredients in with or in lieu of the chicken. Will definately be making again!"
"The sauce is now a must-have any time we make a mexican dish. Its my DH's favorite flavoring from Taco Bell, and he hates that he can't convince them to add it to their tacos or burritos. I like it way better than using taco sauce."
