"These fillets are so easy to make and so tasty, crunchy on the outside. This is our favorite way to fix Tilapia. I got the recipe from the bag the fish came in. This recipe is NOT spicy & wasn't meant to be spicy. Taliapa is a sweet white, mild tasting fish. If you want spicy add spices to this recipe."

"Great basic coating! I added cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Thanks for sharing a keeper!"
"This is a very good weeknight recipe. The flavor was good and it kept the fish nice and moist during cooking. Thanks for sharing!"
"I make the Fried Talapi once a week, however, I used Flour and Panko Crumbs to coat the fish before frying.
Combine 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese with 1 1/2 cups Panko Crumbs. Place in a dish, beat 2 eggs with 1 tbsp water, add S & Pepper to taste, use 1 cup flour in a plate with Paprika, garlic and onion powder S & P to taste. Heat the Oil in fry pan till hot but not smoking, Dip fillets in eggwash then in flour, then back into eggwash then into the Panko crumbs, making sure to press fillets into the Panko thats been flavored with S & P and garlic and onion powdered Panko (Japanese Bread Crumbs) Fry in hot oil in frypan. The fillets come out crisp and delicious, I serve mine with our favorite potato dish and a Salad or a favorite cole slaw. Try it you wont regret it. Lucy"
"This was really yummy! I cooked on my baking stone so no added fat was needed. I did add some extra seasonings to the mixture just to spice it up. I will defiantely be making this often. Thnaks!!"
"I thought it was ok. I added some chili powder and garlic powder to the mix as well"
"This was just ok for us. I used Tilapia that I had defrosted and maybe that affected the taste of the dish overall. Tilapia is just not a great tasting fish for me. I would definitely use this coating and try again on tilapia or another fish."
"My husband decided to surprise me with dinner the other night. Normally I am a bit worried when he gets a notion like that but we both were so delighted with this dish that we are adding it to our weekly menu. The best part is that it was so quick and easy my husband is actually looking forward to making it himself. Thank you!"
"Fast, easy, and all of my kids love it!"
"Excellant recipe. I use it for tipapia as wll as cat fish."
"This was easy and a big hit at our house. My husband kept commenting on how good it was and my two year old ate a whole tilapia fillet by himself. I had to cook mine about 25 min. but I think my fillets were still slightly frozen."
"This recipe was 5*'s all the way!!!! from the ease of preparing. To make clean up even easier I mixed all coating mix in a plastic zipper bag, coated the fish one piece at a time.I forgot to spray the top of the fish before adding the remaining coating mix,but it still turned out very well.As for sides I served Recipe#189165 along with peas & carrots. This will be made again,Thank you so much for posting."Keep Smiling:)""
"I also felt something was missing in this recipe. Maybe some garlic or spice? It was okay on tilapia but tasted a lot better on pork cutlets. I seasoned the pork cutlets with Adobo seasoning before putting in the cornmeal/parm mixture, so that may have had something to do with it."
"It was really easy. It was O.K. and has possibilities. It needed more flavor. As others suggested, I would add more salt than was implied, (maybe garlic salt), something spicy like cajun seasoning or cayenne and maybe run the parmesan through the food processor to get more flavor in the dish. Mixing in some dried parsley would improve the appearance."
"I love the ease of this recipe next to Recipe #150987 I find this is just great. Will always remain in my cookbook for future use and will be used over and over again. I did add some garlic to it and dad did say it was a little bland so next time I will add a little more garlic. "
"Very good, nice and crunchy!!, really easy to put together and quick too. I used Basa fillets, worked very well. The paprika and parmesan cheese were good together. Will be making it again, thanks for posting."
"I dislike fish in general, but this was excellent! To me it has the flavor of Long John Silver's fish (which isn't fishy) but without all the grease. Delicious and easy!"
"These were good but did not properly crisp for me. I doubled the paprika for some extra flavor."
"Very good! I'd never had tilipia fish before, and my DH and I really enjoyed the flavor your recipe added to the fish. Will make again for sure..Thanks Barb!"
"Barb: Very good! I omitted the Paprika-was out. Oooops. Didn't change the flavor. Great tilapia dipped in Hey Jude's homemade tartar sauce #65769. Can't wait to make again ...and with the Paprika. LOL"
