"I am so sorry you received the last review as it tainted the recipe. I went and made it anyhow because I saw great reviews before it and on another site. It was super. I served it to a bunch of ladies and it was instantly gone. I used a different cookie cutter shape but followed it exactly. I think with curry you have those who like a hint of it and those who like a ton. This was a mild flavorful recipe but not overdone. I also served it to my husband after and he raved about it. If you feel that it might be too sweet for you use a more tart medium apple. Great tea sandwich and regular any day sandwich, just make it bigger. Enjoy and thanks for posting sugarplum. ChefDLH"
"Absolutely delicious and beautiful served on a bed of lettuce. Great for parties or just a light lunch. Thanks for the recipe!"
"Excellent and delicious-I loved the flavors. Excellent recipe for left-over chicken. I will make this again"
"I make this all the time for parties. It's a huge hit, and I'm always asked for the recipe!"
"Great sandwiches! Even my grandmother (who has eaten her weight in tea sandwiches over a lifetime of bridge parties) loved them!"
"I threw a bridal tea, and this was a hit everyone kept asking me for the recipe~"
"DH's expression was a little perplexing when he took his first few bits of these. Then he finished and said, "Hmmm..." Concerned, I asked him if they were okay. Very relieved when he said that he was just exploring all the different flavors crossing his tongue!!! Definite repeat. I skipped both the apples and the pecans (allergic to both!), and they suffered not in the least. Still a wonderful blend of curry, sweetness, tangy-ness, and crunchy-ness."
"I loved the different combinations of ingredients, the texture was just right, and it had great flavor. I served this on a hearty grain bread, which gave another great flavor. This is definately a tasty sandwich, and one that I would make again! Thanks so much for sharing."
"This chicken salad is delicious, and serving it on heart-shaped bread makes a lovely presentation for the right occasion. I poached 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, which yielded about 3 cups cubed chicken. I went ahead and used it all, doubled and toasted the pecans, used the full amount of curry powder, and added a little salt. (I used Hellmann's light mayo and didn't increase it, even though I increased the chicken and pecans, as I wanted it a little on the dryer side anyway.) I served with a little spring mix on oatnut bread. Wonderful recipe--thanks for posting!"
"totally delicious! the two young sons and i loved it for dinner last night. i was hoping for some leftovers tonight, but my 14 year old son ate all the rest! i doubled this and used the meat from a rotisserie chicken from the store. "
"Yum!! Used 3/4 tsp. curry, the flavor was perfect. Will be making them again very soon. Thanks for the recipe."
"Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! My friend's and I loved this recipe. Wow! It was a wonderful addition to my tea party. Very pretty too. MMMMMM...."
"Oh sugarpea, these sandwiches were all the rave. I made them for a bridal tea and the reaction they got was very complimentary. Wish you could have been there to see it. The filling is a perfect blend of ingredients. I used 3/4 t. of curry which didn't overpower, but you could certainly taste it. I also cut them into heart-shapes which was a precious idea. You made me look very good. Thanks for sharing this recipe. Gets my highest recommendation."
"Followed the recipe step for step and used it with mini croissants when I hosted our bunco group. Loved it! Several requested the recipe...."
"These sandwiches were OUTSTANDING! I really love the addition of the lime juice! It really adds some zing to the recipe. The pecans, apple, celery and dried cranberries really add many different lovely textures and flavors to the sandwich. I must admit i didnt cut the bread into hearts, as this wasnt for any special occasion. I used lots of curry powder... maybe just a tad more than what was suggested ;-) I topped with lettuce and served. :-) simply delightful meal!"
"This was awesome, everyone raved about it. I served it open-faced, without using cookie cutters, on a split multigrain Sandwich Thin, then cut into quarters, with a black olive stuck into most with a toothpick. Very beautiful and so tasty."
"I put the salad into mini phyllo cups instead of onto bread. They are fantastic. This recipe is always requested. The first time I made these for my friends, after they had quickly eaten all that I had made, I had to take the leftover salad out of the fridge and assemble more cups while they ate them as fast as I made them!"
"I'm sorry, I don't feel this recipe lived up to the hype. I prepared it exactly as it but found it rather bland. I had to increase everything except the quantity of chicken to get a flavor that was curry-enough, with the sweet overtones of the apples and cranberries. The end result after tweaking was good, but I won't use this recipe again. The texture is nice, but as I say the flavors don't stand out as I feel they should."
